I sure as hell know I am excited for next year! With these changes and Mike Sullivan at the helm we should be going deep into the playoffs!

I think we have to remain competitive to keep Sid happy. He's earned that. Trade for Kane, get an asset to take the contract on. Retain and deal him next season for another asset etc.

I like my idea. Sign Sid to one year deals if they are out of the playoff trade him for a 1st and then resign him the next year to a one year deal and rinse and repeat! Brilliant idea right??

I'll say one thing for Dubas, he's not giving me false hope this time.

Montreal’s GM is the former agent who signed Letang to the contract so I think he knows the terms .
Madden was also butchering Gryzleck and Beauvillier’s name. I’m not a local fan so I don’t listen to him. That surprised me. Thought he was more knowledgeable.
He is by far the most knowledgeable in the area. He mispronounces many names on purpose….

I would rather see to do something big and really try to compete for the last time or just start rebuilding.. now we are stuck in middle again
I think we will be worse. This is an old show team.

Problem isn't the old and slow part as much as the trying to play young and fast. This team could be a playoff team with a more defensive and opportunistic approach with a good power okay.Cow_Master66 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 2:37 pmPens4Life wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 5:34 am Do you guys feel we are better team than we were last year at the moment? Exactly right. That's the problem with continuing with a coach that is stuck in 2016.Daniel wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 2:45 pmProblem isn't the old and slow part as much as the trying to play young and fast. Re: Random Penguins Fodder
I thought the defensive part wasn't *that* out of tune last season. We pretty much had what was needed to play a defensively responsible game and still put out plenty of goals. Instead, a chunk of Pens (you can fill in the names), like to... not... care about defending, or have no brain cells assigned to said task (again, fill in the names). We did have no secondary scoring to speak of, scoring by our top six was down as well and Crosby carried this team to vague relevancy.Sigwolf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 3:39 pmExactly right. Our PP though.. good GRIEF. That doesn't need fixing so much as a necromancer to raise it from the dead. A putrid 15.3%. Our average over the past ten seasons is 21.1%. It's supposed to convert 1:5 on a team that has a PP with half a brain and an ounce of talent, instead we didn't even crack 1:6.5

Let's also not fire or replace the coach responsible for it, until it's far too late. I cannot get over how annoyed I am about our PP last season
