Oh boy. Most GM's (which is all I've ever owned) have them right out where you can change them in 5 minutes. That one's not so easy. Pretty sure you have to pull the fender and wheel to even get to it.

Stupid question...whats better all wheel or 4x4? I would mainly use it when it snows.

All wheel if you're gonna be on pavement. 4 wheel if you're gonna be in a field.

All wheel drive eliminates the "I'm not sure when I should put it in 4x4" thoughts

Here is your "I'm a stupid customer" question of the day....

2007 Yaris, manual transmission. Car seems to "hum" a little louder than normal between roughly 50-70mph. Seems like a bit more vibration too. Does it when in gear and in neutral. Recently replaced passenger rear tire but I don't think this started until a few days if not a week after the tire was replaced. Thoughts?

I have what looks like 2 air bubbles in my right front tire, likely from hitting potholes. Is it safe for me to drive anywhere, or should I focus on getting that taken care of?

From what I know (not much) it is "safe" to drive to get it taken care of but the chance of a blowout are very much increased so I wouldn't delay.

Re: the Yaris. Sounds like it could be an improperly balanced tire. Maybe a wheel weight fell off of the new one?

Re: Tire bubbles. Not a go directly to the tire shop problem, but I wouldn't drive aggressively or any long distance on them. You'll have to take care of it eventually, better on your schedule than when the tire decides to strand you, so in the next week or so would be good. (Could blow anytime though, unlikely, but possible.)

If the bubble is on the sidewall it's a bit more serious. On the tread, just keep an eye on it

I'm still on self-imposed lockdown, but I just wanted to pop in to say that Mrs Tif and I Ubered to her birthday dinner on Saturday in a Tesla Model S. I think I have her about 75% of the way convinced that we should get one when she pays off the loan on her CR-V.

I got four new tires for the Odyssey on Friday. Good times. Should I get them retorqued as noted on the receipt? Not sure I've ever done that before.

But a friend in college had her tires rotated before going to a job interview. On the way back from the interview (on an interstate outside of Atlanta), her tire fell off and tore up the car pretty badly. Even got the shop to pay for the damages...

It was on the sidewall.

Found out the wheel is also bent, which I think would be the 2nd time I've bent the right front on a pothole in the last 3 or 4 years. Only thing they could do was move it to the back. Can still feel it wobble, but not as bad as before.

Rebalancing the tires would be my first thought.

It doesn't hurt, but it's really only absolutely necessary with new hardware (lug nuts) or wheels. Doesn't hurt to pull out a 4 way and just make sure they're snug.
