I'm tackling a third of the Nick Cave (in all iterations) catalog for a music night this Friday. I got a pretty favorable draw with:
Junkyard (Birthday Party), Prayers on Fire (Birthday Party), Tender Prey, Murder Ballads, Let Love In, Grinderman, Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!

The drawback is the two-thirds of the Birthday Party stuff. It's really taking a lot of effort for me to get into that stuff.

The format will be "listener's choice" two songs off of each album in chronological order. Other than the BP stuff, I'm going to have a really hard time picking two.

I finally found a band from Pittsburgh I'm really impressed with. Female fronted sort of bluesy retro rock thing going on. Very good stuff.

Well, I must be doing okay. She's Hit was the only song I had settled on from Junkyard.

She'll only come out at night
The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new, I've seen her here before
Watching and waiting

She's sitting with you but her eyes are on the spoon
So many have paid to see, what'd you think, you'd get it for free?
The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by a bowl of cream
Muesli's the matter, if you're in it for love you ain't gonna get too far

Oh, here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew it all up
Oh, here she comes
She's a bran eater, bran eater

This will be my 5th time seeing them. Saw them the first time on their 20th anniversary tour (this is their 25th anniversary tour). Funny thing is when I tell people I'm going to see them they're always like "who? never heard of them" even tho this is their 25th year.

Oooh, just came across this. If anyone likes hardcore or crossover. One of my favorite hc groups in the 80's.

I think I've seen Agnostic Front a quarter century ago.

Anyway, is there a better voice than Sade Adu?
