I missed the whole Kanye thing everyone is talking about and im to lazy to search it out, what did the god of rap do last night?

when Beck won the award and got on stage and was being handed the grammy from Prince, he (kanye) went up on stage and pretended like he was going to grab the mic and go on a rant. He then just smiled, waved and went back to his seat.

Beck won album of the year, and everyone is upset about it. Awesome. As a Beck fan, this is like a fine wine.

I like Beck, and while I wasn't a huge fan of Morning Phase, I still like that its winning will (and apparently did) piss off a lot of people.

Kanye later complained after the show about Beck:

"I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyoncé.

"Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you're disrespectful to inspiration," West continued. "And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place."

What a **** jagoff. "Respect artistry"? You mean a guy who pretty much makes his albums solo and plays almost all the instrumentals on said album should respect someone who has a team of people write lyrics for her and uses pre-recorded backing music? **** off, you wanker.

Compared to his older stuff, I wasn't a fan of Morning Phase either (nothing will ever beat Odelay in my book), but yeah. The outrage right now is just so velvety smooth on the tongue.

Oh, I don't think it was an intentional reference. Much like the infringement of "I Won't Back Down" was probably a complete accident. It was just a funny choice of words, given the controversy, and it made me chuckle.

Booking a small show in Pittsburgh on April 3rd or 4th to close out a mini run up the east coast with my band. Bloomfield Bridge Tavern needs me to find local support. Anyone know of any decent lower-level alt-countryesque bands in town that will draw at least 25-50 people?

The best part is you will find a band that says they can draw 25-50 and in reality they bring their girlfriends and maybe 9-10 other people.

Honestly, I don't care how many people they bring. I just need a place to play for my friends and family to wrap up our stretch. If I make enough to cover the turnpike, sweet.
