You're known to talk at length about things, even if no one asked, so no worries. :pop:

PS Yes, it does sound like you *need* a truck.

My F150 super crew had more room than any SUV I'd ever rode in with the same number of seats. I could fit 4 folks in the back seat.

Somewhat relatedly, I feel incredibly cramped in our Forester with two car seats. The Kraftster household is in the market for a Buick Enclave. Hoping to make that happen very soon. The bucket seats in the back are clutch because the dog can lay between the seats, leaving the back back available for packing.

I saw your reply, glanced out of my periphreal and saw the low caps green and thought you were shmenguin and skipped over "conversational" and went straight to "defense" for what it's worth. ;)

I'm not even a truck guy. Too much **** swinging in the military about them, so I never bothered. I'm actually having a hard time settling on a motor because I have no idea what I'm looking at when I sift through the options.

LITT would probably be a good candidate for a Ram EcoDiesel. But that's just the coal roller bias in me ;)

Well I was getting 9mpg in my Suburban so better than that would be nice. Maybe 20+?

20+ should be attainable in almost any midsize. Jeep Grand Cherokee, Kia Sorrento, GMC Terrain, etc.

My buddy got a 14 Silverado. It's a sharp truck and drives nice but I am Ford biased. I think he ended up paying somewhere in the $35k range. I see no difference in SUV and truck but to each their own. With a tonneau cover, a truck can do more than an SUV can.

We had one before my parents traded it in for the midsize Infiniti SUV (think it's the Infiniti equivalent of the Pathfinder). Good car. Good gas mileage. Lots of room. Foldable seats for more room.

Are there any Durango owners out there? How are they? 2012-ish ones are becoming reasonably priced.

German car. Replacing brake pads for the first time on it. I was told that if I'm doing the pads I must do the rotors as well. This was before the shop even looked at my car. Not all cars are like this I was told.... just BMW, Merc, Audi, etc. Never heard this before....

"Brake pad warning light" just came on last week which means the pads are down to 25%. No grinding or squeeling or issues other than the warning light. I figured I'd swap out the pads and be all good, now I'm hearing the rotors will have to be done as well (just because). I'm suspicious.

You can do a "pad slap" for cheap but they will wear unevenly. It will get you by for a while though. You certainly should machine or replace the rotors every time you change pads.
