Anyway, Candace is awesome. She is also really effing nuts in the kind of punishment she's willing to take. At a recent PWG show, a wrestler took his boot off, drove a bunch of thumb tacks thru the sole, put the boot back on, and super kicked her in the face.

Yeah but the next time this company does something sensible will be the first time.skullman80 wrote:I doubt it, they need people to subscribe to the network regardless of what they watch.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
The $9.99! thing didn't work. Time to try a new marketing technique. Maybe they could actually showcase all of the awesome stuff on the network like NXT, the docs, the really awesome archived content like all of the PPVs, Clash of the Champions, Hardcore TV, Prime Time Wrestling, Saturday Night's Main Event, Tuesday Night Titans, Raws, Nitros, etc, the really good original shows like Monday Night Wars and Rivalries, the Network specials like the Shield and DB docs.
There is so much great content on the network that they never push. I get that the price point is huge, and it should be a no-brainer for anyone who purchases PPVs, but there's a lot more to it than just the monthly PPVs.
Granted, having someone pitch MORE wrestling for you to watch while you are currently watching a 3 hour wrestling show may not be the best strategy.

I agree with this 10000x over. They don't promote the stuff they should on the network. They focus on the price too much. There is SO much stuff to watch. Awesome documentaries, NxT, .... nitro's now etc.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
In my uneducated opinion, like I said before, I think the pricing is worse than the marketing. 9.99 is just way too much for a single channel where you don't get to choose your programming. Also, do they have commercials on there? If so, that's just awful.

For the amount of content you get, plus all the PPV's .. 9.99 is a not bad at all. People don't realize how much content is actually there until you dig, plus all the NxT stuff, plus all the PPV's you get.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I agree that if PPVs are priced at $50+ or whatever they are then yeah, that's really good value, but I compare it to what I'm paying for a sports channels package right now: 9.99 for NFL Network, RedZone NHL Network, NBA tv, Fox Sports, a bunch of ESPN channels, etc. In the end, this comes down to me thinking that the PPVs are way overpriced and whatnot, but I just have to realize I'm not in the WWE's target audience for the channel.skullman80 wrote:For the amount of content you get, plus all the PPV's .. 9.99 is a not bad at all. If they went down to like 3-4 dollars a month for the WWE network, I would get it, but they would never do that.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
The Network is priced competitively compared to other over the top providers such as Netflix & Hulu Plus. I don't really understand your point of it's too much for "for a single channel where you don't get to choose your programming." Those channels you listed (NFL Network, Redzone, NHL, NBA, Fox Sports) are channels where you cannot choose your programming. You're forced to watch whatever is being broadcast.
The only way to compare it to a sports channel is to look at NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL's digital services. NHL GameCenter, last I looked, cost about 120 bucks for the (regular) season. Assuming that's about 7 months, you're looking at 17 bucks a month.
