It really grinds my gears that the Foos are so popular now, ive been a fan since 1994 but all the new fans that heard Rope or Wheels and like OMG I Luv The Foos snatched up the good seats.

Damn kids...
lulz. The Foos have been around long enough and consistently releasing hit songs that I doubt the majority of the crowd only heard Rope or Wheels. ;)

So I am fully embracing having "Madness" stuck in my head. Been reading about Matt Bellamy and his guitar gear. That is straight up bonkers stuff.

Image

Manson MB-1 Guitar is Muse Guitarist Matt Bellamy's Secret Weapon

What struck me was this:
The coolest feature on the MB-1, however, has to be the built-in MIDI touch pad, which can used to remotely control an effects processor, digital synthesizer or even stage lighting. By touching, tapping and running his finger over the touch pad, Bellamy manipulates the parameters of an effect processor called the Korg Kaos Pad, which he runs his guitar through via a MIDI connection.
Granted, that story is from 2011..... but how is it that MIDI is still a thing??

There are basically 3 ways to plug in a guitar:

1) 1/4" patch cable
2) Variax (LOL!)
3) MIDI

MIDI allows for more info at faster speed than a standard patch cable. When you are running so many effects, and in this case stage lighting etc., MIDI is the way to go.

I get what MIDI is and why you'd want to use it for an instrument like that. What I meant was that in an age where the iPhone has had like three (?) different connectors during its life I'm surprised there hasn't been something that has replaced 30-year old MIDI.

I went to StubHub and overpaid badly. This is a special band for Mrs Tif and I, so I don't really mind. But my two $75 face value tickets were........... considerably more than that.

I'm fine with lawn. I don't think I've ever paid for pavilion seating out there.
