Huge win for the program!
Looks like they played them tough in a 5-3 loss on Friday, too.
5-1-2 start was impressive but they hadn't played anyone, now they have some credibility. 3 Rivers Classic vs RMU could be no joke.
Schedule is really odd- last played at home on Halloween and don't play at home again until January 9. Granted they are totally off 12/6 to 12/29 but still...
My one buddy who has season tickets was telling me how weird the schedule is. I guess they'll have a bunch of home games late, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
While I agree it is a joke the B1G doesn't have a strong hockey program, ASU has has an extremely strong ACHA program for years. They attract a decent number of former NCAA D-1 players.

Am I missing something here? Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State have all been very successful/strong hockey programs. The B1G is one of the strongest conferences in collegiate hockey. Or do you mean full participation by the conference?
Looking at "power" conferences, B1G is the only one that has hockey as part of their conference.

I was referring to more/full participation by the conference schools.

Spoiler:
every conference in NCAA hockey has 2-4 good teams, the rest of the conference is mostly garbage. there's a certain amount of animosity toward the B1G among many NCAA hockey fans for "breaking up" the greatest conference in NCAA hockey (WCHA). The current B1G conference has more NCAA hockey titles than any other conference:
Oh, give me a break. The majority of those wins were when there were not a large number of schools with teams. That's like Maple Leafs fans using Stanley Cups to show their greatness. Yea, you haven't won one since there were 6 teams in the league.

I fully admit, that all the hate to B1G hockey I've heard is exactly because of this, and I cannot deny that it sucks that these conferences got broken up, but oh well. times change.
Arrogance? More like the league saw $$$ and decided to take advantage of it. The other leagues would follow suit if they had a large number of schools in traditional hockey markets.
