For what it's worth, that wasn't the one I was talking about even though he probably is one of the most obscure folks mentioned here.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:There are, or were at least, more than a few Stern fans here. Metheny played such a big role in developing Stern's radio persona, I figured it was notable.
Next time, I will clear all future postings with the LGP Posting Committee.
I can't name the first three people on the prior page. But since old people tend to die at a higher rate the ignorance is mine.

Just any FYI here, and I dig the song also. For the people who think this "obscure" im sure once you hear this song it will click. And for those who dont know...Paul Revere isnt the singer, he is the keyboardist.

Re: RIP Thread
My actual favorite line from 'Private Parts' is right after the Match Game scene when PV calls them into his office.
"You god damn motherf**kers."
It's actually a line Mrs Tif and I use all the time, usually in traffic.
Giamatti is just so perfect in that movie. I had never seen Metheny for realz until his passing, so listening to replays of the NBC era shows now it is impossible for me to see any other image in my head than the look he gives at the urinal when Stern calls PV's wife on air.

Stern said Giamatti was such a good actor that he almost made the guy seem endearing which undercut how badly he treated Stern.tifosi77 wrote: Giamatti is just so perfect in that movie.
