Re: NHL 15
No manual draft picks that'll be added in october, no playing with your AHL team and no gm "level up". Is there more that was on old gen that's not in next gen? I care about non of the mentioned. If you do care it sucks of course, however.Malkamaniac wrote:Uh, BEAGM is 1/3 of what it is on past gen systems. That's a huge problem for me and it's nowhere near the mode it should be.André wrote:For offline players there aren't too many issues. Custom tournament will be there, BaGM will be there. And all with the awesome looking next gen gameplay. The bolded part above isn't true.canaan wrote:so you want a hockey simulator to play against a computer? how cro-magnon. You're getting fed spoonfuls of half-designed product and you are not only eating it up, but defending it. "i dont care about features or ingenuity or depth, i just want it to look pretty. You have battered EA consumer syndrome. You used to pay $60 for creative content, and are now paying the same amount for recycled mud. good luck with that.
Looking at online features though we're screwed. No denying that. The variety of game modes is shallow to say the least. Oh and BaP is useless unless they incoporate sim to next shift again.
So yes this is crap from EA, I'm disappointed too. However, given the next gen gameplay it can't be callled recycled mud.

Yeah alot of reviews are coming in and it's not pretty =)Malkamaniac wrote:It's getting shredded on Metacritic lol.
I'm happy, actually. Yes I've defended the game when even what's been improved has taken heat and I'll still enjoy GM, OTP and playing with friends with the new gameplay. I am glad, however, that EA is getting flamed for the shallow content game mode wise. It's uneccessary and crappy towards the consumer.

The only silver lining here for me is I get the extra time to hit 6k points on 14.

I think I had D'Agostini, Ebbett, and Dustin Jeffrey in my first NHL 14 HUT pack. You typically don't get the good players until you buy packs with the pucks/coins (I think I picked up Matt Cooke and Pascal Dupuis with those).

Re: NHL 15
Picked up NHL15 three days ago. We have an XBox 360 and have owned 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14. I like it. I think the game is smoother and quicker responding than 14. And they fixed the guaranteed scoring hole high to the glove side in 14. I'm getting used to Doc's commentary style (not quite as good as during a real game).

NHL 15 is down ~30% in sales compared to the last iteration in the first week, despite having x2 the number of consoles to sell on (ps4/xbone/ps3/360)
theyve also already cut the price of the game in canada.

I guess there just isn't demand for NHL games anymore, probably shouldn't put any effort into development in the future. -Gaming Industry

Re: NHL 15
This is the first year since 05 that I haven't bought at least one of the EA or ESPN 2K (back when they existed) NHL games.
I just didn't see the need for it personally. I don't feel like enough has changed, plus I'm going to probably continue to invest time in FIFA if I'm playing something on the PS3.
Unless I see it for a great discount, I probably won't be picking it up this year and a few people I've talked to have said the same.

Should be soon. The Mass Effect 3 debacle was similiar. It dropped from $69.99 to $49.99 within a few weeks.Malkamaniac wrote:Is this game discounted yet for PS4?

I'm like 95% sure I'm going to just skip NHL and pick up FIFA this year. I miss my scouting and simming season stuff.
