Amen brother. I just paid a small fortune because my sewer was clogged up with tampons and backed up into the basement. 3 women in the house & none of them will admit to flushing them.

The changing pronunciations of words that have long been accepted.

i.e. The country of Qatar used to be pronounced "Kuh-TAR" now it's "Cutter".

Just saw a commercial where the windmills for air energy were referred to as wind "turbans" vs "turbines".

I know there are others, but those are two I encountered this morning.

Oddly specific peeve, but you nailed "Cutter".

What if you were at work wearing it and then went to the gym after?

(PS - I don't go to the gym)
If the cologne/perfume/Axe is still strong after putting a full day at the office, then I feel bad for their co-workers.

As a power generation industry professional, I can confirm that "turban" is the industry accepted pronounciation and has been for at least 12 years. Peeve or not.

I spent 2.5 years working in the Middle East, so, yes.

What the hell was that Dave Coulier show on nickelodeon inthe late 80s? It was like a fake talk show. I've tried to Google and everything and can't find the name. Or what it was even about. I jut remember him sitting at a desk

Was it a segment from You Can't Do That On Television?

Or the news sketches from Out of Control?

There always seem to be one or two of these people in every department/team. Two of my last managers have done this but usually they did it when they were out most of the workweek or slammed with meetings nearly every day. I didn't get why regular staff would remote in and pound out three or four emails every Sunday. Just wait until Monday especially because the emails weren't mission critical.

I have to chip away on the weekends. Too much chizz to deal with during the week.

And it's not like I'm asking for a call/meeting actually on a sat or sun, if that's what was meant.

Weather.com and their over the top dramatic news stories that are all over the site, just copied the top headline bar:
Tornado Slams Boston Area

BEACH CHAOS: 1 Dead, 13 Injured

Dad's Day at Beach Ends in Tragedy (Picture of smiling Dad)

New Warning From Scientists (Picture of meteor destroying earth)

They Hate Her. She Loves It. (UFC fighter)
Seriously, just tell me the temp and if it's going to rain tomorrow.

The Weather Channel was purchased by NBC which is owned by Comcast, which explains how crappy TWC is now.

I use Wunderground on my phone for current weather info, but prefer to have the forecasts from someone else which is how I end up at weather.com
