Alexander is the current drummer for Primus, having previously been a member of the band from 1988 to 1996 and 2003 to 2009. He rejoined the Les Claypool-led group in 2013. He’s played drums on seven Primus albums, including the band’s two most successful discs — 1991′s ‘Sailing the Seas of Cheese’ and 1993′s ‘Pork Soda.’
In addition, Alexander has appeared on Puscifer’s two studio albums and one EP, and played drums on the Keenan-fronted A Perfect Circle‘s hit song ‘The Hollow.’ '
In a Facebook post, Puscifer alerted their fans to the news of Alexander’s heart attack and impending surgery, writing the following:
Calling All Cars! Rough news. @timalexander suffered a heart attack. Open Heart Surgery on Mon/Tues. Global Positive Thoughts, Por favor. @Puscifer We need our Herb the Ginseng Drummer aka Peter Merkin alive and thieving.

That's all the acts, we decided to go before the full lineup was released, it's pretty unimpressive to me. I'm only looking forward to seeing:
Neutral Milk Hotel, Kendrick Lamar, St vincent, Cloud Nothings, Deafheaven, DIIV, and Real Estate. Willing to watch Tune Yards, Sharon Van etten, Circulatroy System, Dum Dum Girls and Beck. Will go sit in the grass in the back and drink beer during the other acts.
Didn't really get to see much, this was a really crappy setup for a festvial. missed, deafheaven, DIIV and cloud nothings. Tune yards was better than i thought it would be, NMH is worth the price of admission, it's great that they are touring as a band again. In terms of the rap, Kendrick Lamar and Danny Brown were great. Slowdive was a lot heavier than i expected, it was cool.

Troy
Was the festival at the same venue/park where they have Lollapalooza each year?

No, this was at Union Park. I believe it's much, much smaller than where lollapalooza is.FreeCandy44 wrote:Troy

Just saw Weezer on Fallon, they played a song from their new album out in Sept. I wish I could say I liked it.

Eddie Vedder is singing "Take me out to the ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch at the Cubs game tonight live on WGN.

I had no idea the Charlatans were still around. I have them safely stored under Early 90s Britpop Hype, Subdivision Funky Organ.

Re: Let's talk about music
A friend that I was stationed with posted a pic with the lead singer a few months ago. That's the only reason I knew they still toured.
From the way their wiki page reads, the new album and tour are acoustic, and the album debuted at #19 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Re: Let's talk about music
and a related question to my last post, what's the capacity of Altar Bar? My guess is the place can't possibly hold more than 500.

Altar bar is tiny and crappy imo. Id say 500-600 people tops.

Re: Let's talk about music
Looks like capacity is 650. Factor in a VIP room and that number probably drops closer to the 600 that FC mentioned. However, it looks like it's a 3 level bar, so I'm guessing that the main floor holds 300-400.
It sucks that nobody is saying anything good about it. OFF! is playing there next month....nevermind, I'll be out of town.
