I missed that. RIP. Hard to believe they're all gone.viva la ben wrote:Tommy Ramone was the last surviving original member. He died yesterday at age 65. RIPGaucho wrote:38 years after its release, the Ramones eponymous debut was certified gold in the USA. Congratulations to whoever is left of them.

Performance wise?
I remember 94 being better, but haven't listened to either in a while. I just took a quick look at the setlists, and both are pretty damn good on paper.

99 has Bleeding Me( hardly ever gets played live), which I think is one of the best Metallica songs of any of their albums including the first 4. Such an underrated song, but so damn good.

They played Bleeding Me @ StarLake 1998. So good...I just remember people booing the acoustic set.

It's one of my favorites to play. Such amazing riffs in that song. Load and Reload are full of some of the most powerful riffs they ever wrote.skullman80 wrote:99 has Bleeding Me( hardly ever gets played live), which I think is one of the best Metallica songs of any of their albums including the first 4. Re: Let's talk about music
I could talk about MetallicA all day. Got their logo tattooed on my right arm. That has gotten me 2 drum sticks handed to me by Lars at the last 2 shows I went to.
Best show: 12/31/99 in Detroit. Ted Nugent rode out on a live buffalo.
Honorable mention: Godsmack/MetallicA in 2007 (?). No chappy opening bands. Just 2 awesome live acts.

Blues Traveller is a much better band than I ever thought. They come up a lot of a Pandora station my wife made.

Meh. So is Ted Nugent.
I'm amused by people, who are bothered by his stances on certain issues.
You hadn't figured out that he was a nutcase twenty (or 40) years ago?
Who cares.

I really don't care about anyone's stance on guns (as far as this conversation is concerned). I was just stating a fact that followed up FC44s post. My wife was telling me about how he was pulled over in an RV (or something) and there were all these hidden compartments with guns in them.

I'd say top 5 best live rock and roll songs of all time. Freebird is an obvious #1.

Caspian was pretty impressive. I don't have much of a baseline for post rock live shows, though.

Assuming they still exist, go see Tortoise.
