New "Pink Floyd" album this fall...

Sounds interesting, and I can get past Waters not being in the band, but it can't be good, can it?

A Momentary Lapse of Reason wasn't bad. It's not as good as the stuff with Waters in the band but I liked it.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:New "Pink Floyd" album this fall...

Yeah, Momentary Lapse was my first foray into Pink Floyd, which of course led me to all of their seventies work. It has some good tunes on it, but not in the same level as Meddle or Dark Side.

As a huge Floyd fan I am looking forward to it, but the more I read the lower my expectations are.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:New "Pink Floyd" album this fall...

What's Polyphonic Spree all about? I'll be in Houston this week when they're playing with an opener I've seen before that I liked quite a bit.

polyphonic spree is the dude from tripping daisy. (i know.... who?), and it's like a 30 piece choral ensemble. my band opened for them years ago and i thought the whole thing was kind of creepy. the fanbase was into it on a bizarre level that seemed cult-like.
also- apparently wayne coyne and miley cyrus got matching tatoos over the weekend.

Interesting. The venue (Fitzgerald's) seems pretty cool. Guess I'll see how frisky I'm feeling after an all-day deposition.

Until this weekend, I was unaware that the famed (?) Cologne airport was designed by this gentleman's father:
And that airport served as an inspiration for Eno's "Music For Airports" album.

There's not only a new Braid record out (first in 15 years), but they are playing in PGH tonight.Troy Loney wrote:columbia wrote:Speaking of decade+ old emo...I pulled out a Braid record the other day and really enjoyed it.
Braid is awesome, they've stood the test of time.
More emo related, Hot Water Music have established themselves as my favorite band to have come out of that scene.

And surprisingly, Pitchfork liked it. That EP they put out a fews years ago was garbage. But i'd like to hear the new one, it has yet to leak onto the file sharing site i use.columbia wrote:There's not only a new Braid record out (first in 15 years), but they are playing in PGH tonight.Troy Loney wrote:columbia wrote:Speaking of decade+ old emo...I pulled out a Braid record the other day and really enjoyed it.
