Wasn't Frodo and Bears both compliance buyouts, so it's moot anyhow with the Flyers?

I believe the injured player (injured, meaning they sustained the injury while playing hockey) has the right to refuse, does he not? I recall Dan Cloutier pulling a stunt not unlike the scene in Liar, Liar in order to avoid being bought out by the Kings some years ago...Dany Heatley also escaped a buyout because of injury, as I recall...

Rangers will pay him over $51 million for 3 seasons, one of which was a lockout shortened season.MRandall25 wrote:Brad "6 million dollar goof" Richards has been bought out.

Re: Non-Penguins Offseason Moves 2014
That was the expectation around the league. The feeling is, that if he is made available, he would still be tradeable...still has a good reputation around the league. It's a heavy deal. But only people who have the "what have you done for me yesterday" mindset think he's the worst player ever. He's had one bad season (this one) and you gotta think that Jeff Carter - who may have had his best season - will pull him by his boot straps...
Now, if Richards has another poor year in Los Angeles, well, then maybe you've shot yourself in the foot a bit...

Perhaps. With 6 more years, it might be difficult.mikey287 wrote:That was the expectation around the league. Indeed it is.
A fairly classic mikey287 comment, in which he argues against a point that no one has made.
