Non-Penguins Offseason Moves 2014
Any idea what kind of contracts Krug/Bartkowski will get from the B's? I believe both are RFA's.

Boston and SJ in talks for a straight-up trade -- Marchand for Marleau

Getting that punk Marchand out of the East would make me happy. That'd definitely make Boston more offensively powerful in the short term, though.

Pretty much means that the Flyers are not trading for Shea Weber.mikey287 wrote:Timonen re-signs with Philadelphia.
and yes, I heard the We are not trading Shea Weber stuff from the Preds...it doesn't mean anything, sometimes to get better, you have to trade top notch players (See Columbus).

Seems like a victory lap for Kimmo. They have guys to replace his role, but not his minutes. That team is in a tough spot for the next few seasons without another major overhaul.

Re: Non-Penguins Offseason Moves 2014
Ryan wants to play in California. So, what do you do? Anaheim for a year or two and have him mentor fellow American John Gibson? Like a 2 x 5 deal or something? I don't know what he's gonna do...he wouldn't make the Kings and the Sharks would have to lose Niemi to somewhere to grab him before Stalock takes over...
Taking traffic into account, driving from Vancouver to Los Angeles or San Francisco to Los Angeles takes the same amount of time...but I'm not sure what Vancouver plans to do with anything, neither do they...

I can see the Flyers making a play for Callahan if Tampa does not re-sign him.

How do the Flyers keep coming up with cap room to make those sorts of moves?

They dont have a chance, they have about $4M in space and still have to sign Schenn who is a RFA. Not sure if they can use a compliance buyout on Pronger or not.Crankshaft wrote:How do the Flyers keep coming up with cap room to make those sorts of moves?
