I think Milbury just nailed it. I am now going to go take my own life after having said that.

The only thing more enjoyable for the Finns than beating Russia, would be beating Sweden.

9th round pick by the Blues in 2003, just never made it to the NHL.pcm wrote:Geno hates Tuukka. Russian coaching seemed pretty terrible.
Who is Aaltonen? He was all over the ice, looked like a good player.

Dan Rosen @drosennhl 10 Min.
Malkin had to tell Bilyaletdinov to get Bobrovsky off the ice. Malkin had to tell the coach. I repeat, Malkin had to tell the coach.

^Not surprised. Any coach who would think Semin-Malkin-Ovechkin would be a good line should have his sanity questioned.

When Malkin was the face of the russian national team, he dominated the 2012 WCs...

Paraphrasing: For someone like Pavel Datsyuk, this is probably going to sting 10 years from now when he's walking around his home town. For some of the others, they'll probably just move on as if nothing happened based on the way they played.meow wrote:What did he say?Idoit40fans wrote:I think Milbury just nailed it. I don't think it was a matter of effort, give Finland and Rask credit. They are stifling and play like a team that has been playing together for years. Once they got the lead, it was a game over.

Monty Python: Finland
Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I want to be,
Pony trekking or camping,
Or just watching TV.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
It's the country for me.
You're so near to Russia,
So far from Japan,
Quite a long way from Cairo,
Lots of miles from Vietnam.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I want to be,
Eating breakfast or dinner,
Or snack lunch in the hall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.
You're so sadly neglected
And often ignored,
A poor second to Belgium,
When going abroad.
Finland, Finland, Finland,
The country where I quite want to be,
Your mountains so lofty,
Your treetops so tall.
Finland, Finland, Finland.
Finland has it all.

Re: The Official Olympic Hockey Thread
to be fair, 34 years ago it wasn't that they didn't know what to do. Tikhinov didn't believe in pulling the goalie for the extra attacker. he felt it wasn't "real hockey" if you did that. not that those Red Army teams needed to pull their goalie very often.Rocco wrote:34 years later and they still don't know what to do.Gaucho wrote:Dan Rosen @drosennhl 10 Min.

I hear KHL-NHL narrative for RUS failure. Fair enough, RUS with 9 non-NHLers. But FIN has 11 non-NHLers, many of whom (8) play in KHL.
