Re: Team Canada
Neal is too one-dimensional. When your team has plenty of that dimension already, there's no need for him. Didn't expect for a second he'd make it.

Yep. Sure he has a great shot. There are also smaller more skilled skaters around with real good shots that play bigger than he does.

And are able to do something other than bury their heads and shoot. And are familiar with the existence of a defensive zone.

Re: Team Canada
Giroux? Sounds like he could be the next man up if an injury replacement is necessary. Staal, Thornton, St. Louis, and Hall are the only real 'snubs' IMO. Everyone else has played they way off the team -- Fleury included -- and I'm not surprised Stevie Y went with a younger defensive corps.Kraftster wrote:Giroux, Seabrook, Letang.Troy Loney wrote:who are the big ones left off? I hope St. Louis still makes it if one of the forwards can't go. He deserves it and looked absolutely gutted today.

This team would have a cap hit of over $150,900,000+ in the NHL. wow!

I really hope Canada is trailing late in a game at least once so we can see a Tavares-Crosby-Stamkos super line.

So how many times do Crosby and Tavares pass it back and forth between each other in a prime scoring area before Stamkos steals the puck from them?Staggy wrote:I really hope Canada is trailing late in a game at least once so we can see a Tavares-Crosby-Stamkos super line.

So good they don't need an extra attacker.

Re: Team Canada
That would mean Stamkos would have to be closer than 40 feet from the net. We all know that isn't happening.MRandall25 wrote:So how many times do Crosby and Tavares pass it back and forth between each other in a prime scoring area before Stamkos steals the puck from them?Staggy wrote:I really hope Canada is trailing late in a game at least once so we can see a Tavares-Crosby-Stamkos super line.

Re: Team Canada
Does anyone know what number Kunitz is wearing for Team Canada? I was told by someone that Benn is wearing 22, therefore freeing up 14 for Kunitz.
Anyone read anything regarding this?

Stamkos will not be going to the Olympics. Giroux still may be representing Team Canada after all. Other possible... http://fb.me/1Tef2Na2T" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

With the disgusting water situation in Sochi, James Neal should be the obvious choice since he only washes his hair once a week

Almost positive Giroux didn't make the short list of reserve players. It will be St. Louis, E. Staal, or Neal.penny lane wrote:Retweeted by Renaud Lavoie

Re: Team Canada
Giroux was reportedly the 1st AE forward after the roster was announced. Fleury held that position for goalies, and I don't know who it was for defense - but they basically had a backup guy at each position who they told to be ready in case they're needed.sniper wrote:Almost positive Giroux didn't make the short list of reserve players. I think it was on HNIC last week, but they were sure that Giroux was nowhere near the list of extras.

I'm sure it's changed 30 times since the roster was announced, so I've got no clue at this point.columbia wrote:I think it was on HNIC last week, but they were sure that Giroux was nowhere near the list of extras.

Its a joke that St Louis wasn't already on the team. If for some reason he wasn't added, it would be a travesty. Worse than the Crosby exclusion in 06.

Yes. Little Louis would be my #3 forward choice for Team Canada. Crosby, Toews, St Louis, then Tavares and Getzlaf and on.Idoit40fans wrote:Its a joke that St Louis wasn't already on the team. If for some reason he wasn't added, it would be a travesty. Worse than the Crosby exclusion in 06.

Kunitz-Crosby-Carter practicing as top line, not sure I like Carter on that line. We'll see if Babcock sticks with that going into their first game.
