Interesting article on the movement to get Yes in led by Rick Santorum's campaign manager:

Failed yet again this year.

As for Nirvana, while they weren't necessarily original, changed the whole landscape of Rock N' Roll and are very deserving of getting in.
That Madonna is in and Yes is not tells you all you need to know about RRHOF. It's a joke.

You don't think Yes should be in? Then I don't think you've been exposed to them enough. You needed to see them in their glory days live or even now just watch a full concert. Yes not only features some of the best musicians around, but as a whole, they're a supergroup. I understand they're not for everyone, like Rush (same situation), but one can't simply dismiss them. I personally wasn't into them at one time, but that was by my fault because a friend who's a Yes/Rush fanatic sat me down one day and gave me a lesson (that was a long time ago). I immediately gained a tremendous amount of respect.

No, I just think that Madonna certainly belongs in there over Yes. Then again, I don't care about the RRHoF.

A good friend of mine is a huge Yes fan, so I've been exposed to them way too much. :D

But Madonna isn't even rock n roll. She's a pop slut.

Chris Squire rocks. :thumb:

His solo album stunk. One of the few records I ever sold back to the record store.

Yes went down hill after Bruford quit to go to a better band.

This past Thursday Mrs Tif and I saw The Beatles LOVE, the Cirque du Soliel show at the Mirage in Vegas. Utterly, skin-tinglingly brilliant. There were half a dozen spots where I for real teared up. Best performance of anything I've ever seen in my life. Just watched an hour-long BBC documentary about the making of the show, and was amazed at how collaborative the effort was between Cirque and the Beatles.

George Martin and his son Giles created the musical backdrop for the show, sometimes combining parts of three or four different takes of different songs to create the musical pastiche for each moment of the performance. The result is a completely reimagined work that feels original despite being made up of source material that's older than I am. (The only piece of music written specifically for the show was a string piece written in 2005 by George Martin as accompaniment for the demo version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" used in the show.)

I would not be displeased if we went to Vegas a couple times this year with the sole purpose of seeing that show again.

So apparently the two girls from (Kitty) Riot have been released from their Russian prisons and did their first interview since their release.

Not sure if anyone recalls Chuck Garric's work with Alice Cooper and others, but this is pure 100% hard rock that will blow you away! Beasto Blanco is one of the best live rock/metal bands touring right now.
