My two favorite albums of the year, by some margin, are Crimson/Red by Prefab Sprout and Fade by Yo La Tengo. I'd do a Top 10 if I felt there were enough good albums worthy of it, although I have to admit there's some promising stuff that I need to catch up on, like the aforementioned Blood Orange album. Or Yeezus. Some albums I liked, more or less:

True, I saw The Fall in 1998 and he looked 55 then (at age 40).
