I also think Heaven is just a notch below the two albums you mentioned. From what I understand they're all spread across the country while making that album, so it's just too much to keep that going for very long. Them and the National seem very similar to me in terms of stature. Both don't deviate a ton in terms of style and seem to still be able to make multiple solid albums.

Sometimes the joy of discovery is rediscovery. Little River Band' Time Exposure sounded as good last night as 20 years ago.

If you like Lorde, check out the album "Fantasies" by Metric and album "True Romance" by Charli XCX. Amazing stuff there.

Gaucho.

Are you into that Blood Orange album? seems like a frank ocean, Jessie Ware style. Not my style, but I do like the "Time Will Tell" song

Funny you mention it, because I was wondering the same this morning. I dl'd the album about two weeks ago, but have yet to really listen to it. Mainly because I've been catching up on other things, like HAIM for example. I think I really like HAIM. I'll probably really like Blood Orange, too, eventually. I dig Dev Hynes' earlier stuff and also his work for Solange Knowles.

Yes, but with a cool aesthetic that is ... sort of indie and r&b at the same time, if that makes sense. Which puts them in the same boat as Dev Hynes and Solange, I guess.

For those you like Girl Talk, you'll probably like this. 30 min mashup set mixed with some Back To The Future quotes, hence why the set is called "Run For It, Marty."

free download here: http://www.mikerelm.com/mixtapes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it requires an email address, so that fake email won't work since it sends the link for download.

Considered doing a free music thread for stuff like this (legal downloads, no torrents or hosted major label music), but I wasn't sure it would fly. Thoughts?

Thankfully, Rolling Stone also surveyed Gallagher's views on some of 2013's other major releases. Disclosure: "Truly **** amazing." Miley Cyrus: "not very good." Robin Thicke: "a one-hit wonder." Gallagher likes "half" of Arctic Monkeys' AM, thinks Kanye West's Yeezus is "**** great" and describes Daft Punk's song Get Lucky as "effortless and brilliant". And as for Lady Gaga? "She's probably doing a **** on top of a boiled egg right now."
Seems pretty accurate. Although, I don't care for that disclosure stuff.
