Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Glencross is listed as IR (properly) on ESPN, but at Day-to-day on Yahoo. How's that?

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
I have Lehtonen, Quick, Lehner, and Reimer playing today in the LGP Keeper.
Lehtonen is playing against the Blackhawks, but he seems like a must start at this point. Lehner is pretty lights out right now too and is playing Florida. I guess Lehner is a must start tonight as well. I guess this discussion doesn't need to occur.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice how bad he has been.Advice: Pavelec has allowed 10 or more goals in 10 of his past 14 games but he is now been in the Winnipeg net for two consecutive wins.

I actually came here to ask about Pavelec.
For the third goalie on the roster: Pavelec or Backstrom?

Traded Perron (late round draft pick) and Granlund (FA pick up) for Bobby Ryan. Proceeds to lay an egg tonight. Womp womp.

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
This is sort of a fun one given all of the overlap. Pick two starters for each of my teams tonight:
Team A:
Ben Bishop @ LA
Henrik Lundqvist vs. Bos
Sergei Bobrovsky @ Edm
Kevin Poulin @ Tor
Team B:
Ben Bishop @ LA
Roberto Luongo vs. Fla
Craig Anderson @ Phi
Team C:
Ben Bishop @ LA
Ben Scrivens vs. TB
Henrik Lundqvist vs. Bos
Tuukka Rask @ NYR
Kevin Poulin @ Tor
I think I'm going with Lundy + Bob; Bishop + Lou; Rask + Bishop. But I'd almost rather go Bishop over Lundy on Team A. Any consideration to going Lundy + Rask to secure at least one win in what should be a low scoring affair. Scrivens (b2b shutouts) over Bishop in that league?

Bobrovsky vs. Edmonton
Lundqvist vs. Boston
B:
Luongo vs. Florida
Anderson vs. Philly
C:
Scrivens vs. Tampa
Rask or Lundqvist (or possibly both)
That would be what I'd go with

I hope you didn't play Bobrovsky because of me
Did not expect the Jackets to look like a dumpster fire, especially against EDM

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Scrivens was serviceable (for me at least).
So it looks like Burns might finally be returning. So... who am I dropping from my D?
Chara (nope)
Voynov (nope)
Fowler
Zidlicky
J. Johnson.
I know logic probably dictates Zidlicky, but he gets a lot more opportunity than someone like Johnson, who's been pretty disappointing so far. League also counts PPG, PIMs, and HITS, among other more basic categories.

Why bother dropping a D when Burns has forward eligibility?

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
'Cause forwards score more than D, so dropping a forward for him would be pretty silly (he's curently stashed on IR, of course). The fact that you can have a forward taking up a D-spot is the whole point.

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Nobody who's scoring less than any of my D-men, which is part of the reason my D is so lackluster

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Yeah, Burns is not valuable as a F, but as D, he's pretty awesome. Burns isn't better than someone you can pickup as a F I like Zidlicky though, he's doing well.

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Pick 2:
Lundqvist vs. Dallas
Lehtonen vs. NYR
Scrivens vs. NJ
I'm leaning Lundqvist and Scrivens, but could hear arguments for Lehtonen over Lundqvist with the Rangers' offense.

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
You really can't go wrong with either. I'll tend to play goalies against each other when the opportunity affords itself, since you're guaranteed a win and the combined stats will usually level out to be decent.
You'd think Scrievens was due for a stinker eventually, but NJD's on a back-to-back, so he's probably safe. I'd probably pick Lehtonen, TBH. He's been on a tear recently, and whenever it seems like a wash, I always go West over East.

Devils don't score and the Kings are playing well defensively. Lehtonen should really be a Vezina candidate right now. Kari is the Stars. Hank is 3-3 lifetime vs. Dallas.

Eh, they were close enough. 3-2 isn't a big difference in terms of my overall GAA this week.

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Why is the penalty minutes stat a positive category for fantasy? Shouldn't it be negative? I have a schmuck like Zac Rinaldo on my team for the sole purpose of getting PIMs, but should players like him really have fantasy value?

Re: Fantasy Hockey Forum
Nope. I've been saying that for about ten or so years now...doesn't make sense. It's supposed to add value to power forwards or some such, but really it's garbage. I try to eliminate it in league's that I'm in...it's bologna, it doesn't make sense...
