exactly - which is why fighting isn't going anywhere. it's victimless (you can argue bogard if you like, but you'd be wrong), it doesn't negatively affect players that matter, players like it, GMs like it, owners like it, the majority of fans like it, broadcasters like it...everyone that matters likes it aside from a small faction of fans (who are outnumbered by its supporters).pittsoccer33 wrote:If a player doesn't want to be in a fight, they won't be in a fight

You know what's funny about the Parros thing?
Parros was fighting Orr because PK Subban wouldn't. Subban got himself in trouble, turtled, and Parros had to come in and protect his guy.

What a turd PK Subban is.

Did everyone enjoy the Islander fight game? Was pretty disgusting to me and what did it prove? I would rather watch hockey with hockey players, not fighting goons.

I don't think anyone was saying they'd rather watch that.
We all know fighting has its place. That wasn't one of them, and the team(s) were fined.

Sabres can't even complete a tape to tape pass to get out of the zone right now.

Ryan Miller looks pretty shaky. Then again, I think almost any goalie would with the Sabres.

NHL refs are in mid-season form. Looked like a terrible call to me. I saw no goalie interference at all.

the acts that were disgusting in that game were committed by matt martin and trevor gillies. both players were suspended and by the way, neither act was a fight. so, mission accomplished?offsides wrote:Did everyone enjoy the Islander fight game? the fights from that game didn't really bother me. the assaults bothered me, and still do. if they didn't happen, i wouldn't really have any strong feelings about that game.

But weren't the assaults caused by fights from the previous game with them? If the original fights didn't happen, the assaults would not be necessary.shmenguin wrote:the acts that were disgusting in that game were committed by matt martin and trevor gillies. both players were suspended and by the way, neither act was a fight. so, mission accomplished?offsides wrote:Did everyone enjoy the Islander fight game? The pens laughing on the bench were cited as an insigator. Ban that, too?offsides wrote:But weren't the assaults caused by fights from the previous game with them? The bad stuff was punished. The fights all involved willing participants. It wasn't pretty, but it wasn't disgusting either.
