I remember Girls vs Boys from the original Clerks. Had no idea they were still recording 20 years later.

is this hipster music, because I'll destroy cds right now? I'm about 99% unfamiliar with music past 1992, but had heard a few of these songs and thought of them as more folky? I'm a little embarrassed now.

This whole sequence made me lol while reading it. I understand the concern, but if you like music, you like music... don't worry about it, dude. I'm sure you have gone to a concert before and saw people that you don't associate yourself with, but you were all enjoying the same music. You can like a band that is made up of headbangers, hipsters, emos, and not be one of them. You can like a band or a song that is enjoyed by one of those groups of people and not be one of them yourself. In my opinion, it's kind of like enjoying watching a snazzy Caps or Flyers goal highlight, as a hockey fan. I appreciate the play, but I don't consider myself a d-bag like Ovie/Rinaldo, or the Caps/Flyers fans.

I came across an album called The Crane Wife by the Decemberists and they are pretty good. Anyone know anything about them or any of their other stuff?

That's a very good album. The King is Dead is also a very good one.
