Re: George R.R. Martin
SOS is definitely the best book. It's not often when a book can make me happy, sad, angry to the point of wanting to punch a wall and such. It legitimately affected my emotions in a profound manner, which is something that does not happen often for me in a book. Sure, plenty of books have their ups and downs but this is really unlike anything else I've read. (Not saying it's my favorite book, or greatetsbookever but I have to give mad props to GRRM on this one)DelPen wrote:Does everyone agree Storm of Swords is the best book?
That seems like a fairly solid condensation of the "important" stuff. I would add:DelPen wrote: for material keeping in line with minimal character and plot introductions outside the main characters we still have this after season 4 wraps up:

Just got through the House of the Undying part with Daenarys in a Clash of Kings. Definitely my favorite "chapter" for her thus far, it was way more interesting than the way it was handled in the show.

It was very disappointing in the show. I didn't read the books, but it seemed half-arsed.

Re: George R.R. Martin
It was the single most disappointing part of the show so far for a book reader. That scene is so amazing in the books yet it was terrible in the show.

Yeah I normally dread reading those segments, but that was one of my favorite parts of the 1.5+ books i've read.

This sounds sick, but I hope they show that in the final episode. That's the part that got to me the most. It was the final gut punch to a horrible event.DelPen wrote:Favorite part wasIdoit40fans wrote:Just got through the House of the Undying part with Daenarys in a Clash of Kings. Hand to the King? Lead the ships in the Battle of Blackwater? Smuggled Melisandre into Dragonstone to have her birth the shadow?

This is one area that pacing for the TV show really cleaned up a lot.newarenanow wrote:Honestly, my favorite story arc so far is Arya.

I really enjoyed Davos in the books. He's an extremely interesting character. I don't know that it comes across in the show as much.

Prepare for disappointment. Accoring to HBO's website, it's the standard 57 minutes longLetang Is The Truth wrote:is the finale 4 hours long? if not, i will be disappointed.
