Does everyone agree Storm of Swords is the best book?

SOS is definitely the best book. It's not often when a book can make me happy, sad, angry to the point of wanting to punch a wall and such. It legitimately affected my emotions in a profound manner, which is something that does not happen often for me in a book. Sure, plenty of books have their ups and downs but this is really unlike anything else I've read. (Not saying it's my favorite book, or greatetsbookever but I have to give mad props to GRRM on this one)

for material keeping in line with minimal character and plot introductions outside the main characters we still have this after season 4 wraps up:

-Restoration of the Faith Militant
-Mention of siege at Dragonstone and Loras
-Cersei imprisoned for her crimes by the Faith
-Jaime's dealing with the Riverlands
-Brienne and Pod's search for Sansa and then finding Lady Stoneheart
-Littlefinger winning over the lords of the Vale
-The Kingsmoot and rise of the Crow's Eye
-Revelation in Dorne of their plans to align with Dany
-Sam traveling South
-Jon executing Janos and then being betrayed
-Bran finding the 3-eyed crow
-Tyrion making hsi way to Meereen with Griif, Auegon and eventually Jorah
-Drogon coming in during the fights and taking Dany away
-Qunetin being killed by the dragons
-Arya's transformation into an assasin
-Theon capturing Deepwood Motte
-Jayne Poole and Ramsey and then Mance coming in to rescue them
-Stannis deciding to attack Winterfell
-Cersei does her walk of shame and meets Robert the Strong
-The golden company invades the storm lands with Aegon and Griff
-Victarion's voyage to Slaver's Bay

And that's pretty much it...

That seems like a fairly solid condensation of the "important" stuff. I would add:

The "death" of Davos and his charge to find Rickon and Osha

I forgot about a couple of those until I read your list. Question is, how much of these do they start to touch upon next season, and do they intend to stretch this part of the story over more than Season 5? They certainly have the material, but if they truly are targeting 7 seasons, I am expecting them to cover most of 4/5 during season 5 and then devoting 6 to "book 6" and 7 to "book 7"... where they could very well be going off of notes/hints from GRRM because there is no chance in hell that the final book is out by 2016 (when Season 6 would happen and they would need to start shooting 7).

We'll see how it goes...

Just got through the House of the Undying part with Daenarys in a Clash of Kings. Definitely my favorite "chapter" for her thus far, it was way more interesting than the way it was handled in the show.

It was very disappointing in the show. I didn't read the books, but it seemed half-arsed.

It was the single most disappointing part of the show so far for a book reader. That scene is so amazing in the books yet it was terrible in the show.

Just got through the House of the Undying part with Daenarys in a Clash of Kings. Definitely my favorite "chapter" for her thus far, it was way more interesting than the way it was handled in the show.

I really enjoyed Davos in the books. He's an extremely interesting character. I don't know that it comes across in the show as much.
