Yeah, My mother's salary is like $1500 a month, so if/when we have kids, I'll probably just tell her to quit her job and pay her instead of some kid farm.

Yeah....down here decent full time day care is $3,500 a month. Part time (4 hours a day 5x a week) is $1,500 a month. Those are not in home day care providers. They are "learning centers". The cheapest in home day care we found is only $150 a week but she is full until this winter. We are first in line to get in. We know the person and totally trust her. All other in home day cares seemed shady to us. Darn our high standards.

In South America you just let them run around in the streets. Everyone knows that.

I tend to make food that looks like white-hot garbage but tastes really good. 99.99% of the time I’m cooking for myself, so I don’t care what it looks like in the slightest.

I like to have fun with plating but most of the time I don't care. Maybe that's because 5-6 days a week I am making a quick dinner and don't have the time or energy.

So, does food taste better if you put it on the right or left side of the plate?

Depends on if the diner is right- or left-handed, and right- or left-eye dominant.

Presentation does matter, especially if you're preparing food for others.

2.5 lb. Meatloaf. Onion, ketchup, eggs, bread crumbs, homemade spice rub, Worcestershire sauce, and a little water.

Serve with mashed potatoes and accept the comfort.

You have to get rid of the "player embedded" thing plus something else that I don't recall.

I got 1 stalk of fresh rhubarb in my farmer's co-op this week. All the recipes I see on google are basically some variation of a sweet (pie, muffin, marmalade), which I'm not a fan of. Is there any other simple way to use this, in more of a main dish or side salad type of dish? Maybe not, since it looks like a veggie/celery type, but more of a fruit?

I keep hearing about "rhubarb's savory side", but every recipe I see for that frankly doesn't sound all that delicious.

Maybe pickling them?
