Because she's not going to marry the Tyrell boy like she wanted and has to marry tyrion.

Re: George R.R. Martin
I enjoyed the episode, but may have been the weakest of the season. Coincidentally enough, it may also have been one of the biggest departures from the book. Though I wonder about the Arya-Melisandre interaction... when Melisandre says "we will meet again"... was that made up fr the show, or something Martin made them privy to?
Highlights of the episode for me:
- The Blackfish quote I mentioned earlier
- Climbing the wall (even if it had a bunch of extra drama added in for TV)
- Varys and Littlefinger reflecting on spoiling each others plans. Love when these 2 share the screen.
- Littlefinger's speech and subsequent tie-in back to climbing the wall

No, I don't expect we'll hear about it again. I think that was just to add more weight to "The revenge you seek will be yours in time".columbia wrote:A quick question about Varys from last week:

I have a question too...why were they climbing the wall? Why would some of the wildlings have climbed the wall many times in the past? Do they just like to look at the southern areas beyond the wall or do they carry out guerrila-style raids on the Night's Watch?

Re: George R.R. Martin
When they reach the top of the wall, they are supposed to attach ropes to send down to build ladders, so the rest of the Wildlings can climb up.largegarlic wrote:I have a question too...why were they climbing the wall? I may n ot be cut out for this show on a week-to-week basis. Feels like its crawling. My anger when I have to endure an episode without a Dani appearance is significant.

Re: George R.R. Martin
Was that Loris' ship leaving as she was crying or was it the ship that Littlefinger was supposed to have her sail away with him on?SolidSnake wrote:Thank youcanaan wrote:Because she's not going to marry the Tyrell boy like she wanted and has to marry tyrion.
His narrative was talking about opportunity lost and that's what made me think she was crying because she told him no, expecting to marry Loris (sp?) but now that she has to marry Tyrion, she regretted not going with Littlefinger.

I actually feel that way when time is (to me) wasted on Daenerys.Kraftster wrote:I may n ot be cut out for this show on a week-to-week basis. Feels like its crawling. My anger when I have to endure an episode without a Dani appearance is significant.

I can see why she didn't want to leave the cave.
Wouldn't it be easier to just melt a hole in the wall?

I love watching a scene with either one of these gentlemen. Can't determine which one is more manipulative or evil

Re: George R.R. Martin
I think Varys is more manipulative and Littlefinger is more evil. I find Varys to be a much more interesting character.
