I'd say the Rangers are buyers. They just traded an empty jersey for someone who can produce in their lineup. I think they could have made greater gains at that roster spot by keeping Gaborik and firing torts though.

I love that Columbus now has a legit goaltender and have some skilled forwards and added Gaborik.

They deserve to have some suceess, be it regular season only or some post season.

Well, I agree to a point, but the organization has basically chosen Torts over Gaborik. Bottom line, it hurts their power play and Gaborik is a gamebreaker, and you don't trade those guys away if you have them. He scored 41 goals last season on a team that struggles to score goals.

Yeah, I think they expected it to be Granlund. Pominville is a great, great fit in Minny. He just seems exactly like a Minnesota Wild player to me.

Interesting that Hackett was dealt. I wonder if Minnesota is going to announce a re-signing of Backstrom or whether they plan on going after Smith this offseason. Backstrom expires, Harding has MS, Keumper is not the answer.

This one was a surprise. Always thought that Pominville was untouchable. Would love to see him as a Pen someday. This trade will help the Wild a lot.

They are going to try to win games 1-0 every night. No offensive player is going to thrive under Torts. And the Rags just picked Torts over Gaborik.
