Official GDT: Pens vs Wild 12/18/23

Post by DelPen »

Ned in net, Rakell and Acciari off IR but team hasn’t put the lineup out yet

Fleury is getting a SO anyways so does it matter?

Well I might be right Fleury won’t give up any goals, because the Wild are ruining his final season. Didn’t have him play the opener to try to get a record for opening night wins and now not letting him play a final time in Pittsburgh. Guerin is a jerk.

and the lineup is finally up. If Rakell can’t get anything going with Sid he might never score again and putting Graves with Karlsson is incredibly stupid, neither can cover for the other.

This was from Michael Russo (who covers the Wild) earlier today when Gustavsson was first off the ice:

And Fleury himself says he’s not necessarily retiring after this season, he doesn’t love playing there (Pittsburgh) as a visitor and his emotional return “night” to Pittsburgh will come when his HOF career is over

What the absolute **** is Graves doing? He left Malkin to man the crease and was on top of EK that entire time in our won end.

So out of all 20 players dressed to play tonight including both goalies, considering AHL stats too, only Rakell, Rhuwedel, Petersson and Ludwig have yet to score this season. Which player scores first?

Poulin is back in the WBS lineup, as soon as he has his legs back he should be up over Harkins and with a cap hit difference of just under $14,000 the money should work. Harkins is so bad.

Puustinen has been good, feels like once he gets one he will get more.

Ned with some good saves to keep the Wild off the board.
Pens seemed to get some good looks off the transition game
Decent pace of play and jump for most of that period.
Smith had a strong effort and Puustinen was good as well

If Rakell can get going with Sid and Puustinen starts scoring with Malkin that gives some freedom to have Rust with Eller and DOC and then Nieto-Acciari-Zohorna on the 4th and this team might actually have some depth if everyone can get healthy and actually play well too.

Definitely. He finds a way to get free from checks and has good instincts in the Offensive Zone.

Need that to happen ASAP.He had a strong Preseason and looked like a different guy.
