I didn't see a thread to discuss the other games, so I hope I am not stepping on anyones toes by starting one.

Already a couple big hits in the Craps-Flyers game. Hoping they beat each other up...a lot.

Orpik learning how to throw checks Ovie style...jumping before the hit. He has taken 2 separate penalties throwing hits on Cousins.

Keith Jones called it a "good, clean hit". I never liked the hits after the player has passed the puck.

Agree. Any hit that far from the boards never ends well either.

Philly is done unless Washington loses a couple of key players. The Flyers were below .500 this season without Coturier and were something like 35-18 with him.

Well, the other games are certainly entertaining. If I'm Abdelkaker, I'd keep my head on swivel because I think you're a marked man right now. Pretty cheap there pulling a guy out of the pile and wailing on him when he's already down on the ice.

Orpik looked like an idiot in the Caps' game.

Got to love the playoffs! I have a feeling there will be more calls this year as the refs try to get more control over the game instead of the usual anything goes bit. Things have heated up already and they will probably get chilled-down a bit. Pens' game was called pretty tight and sometimes a little tacky and I expect the rest of the refs are going to get on-board with it to cool it down, per the NHL.

Refs just don't get the game. They blow the whistle during the penalty when then wrong team touches the puck constantly

This was mentioned in another thread but for anyone who missed it, Mason let in a dump-in from center ice. Worth watching the lowlight.

I hate the Capitals and wasn't counting on them having a short series but it's looking that way.

I thought the Craps would probably demolish the Flyers anyway, but that goal from center accelerated their Flyer demise. That type of goal takes the wind right out you. Haven't seen one like since PeeWee hockey.

As an aside, that series has had some brutal hits, not for the faint of heart.

I couldn't have been more wrong. Really thought Philly would push them to six or seven, maybe even pull off the upset along the lines of what Montreal did to Washington a few years ago.
