Doc Emrick

Post by Humperdink »

Fascinating read regarding the most famous and competent NHL play by play guy, Doc Emrick (Doc because he has a Phd).

"Emrick taught speech and broadcasting at Geneva College in the Pittsburgh suburb of Beaver Falls from 1969–71 and got his first experience of the NHL covering the Pittsburgh Penguins as an unpaid correspondent for the Beaver County Times newspaper."

I like Doc, one of the oldschool announcers who has good insight into where has has come from and where it is now. Love his Pirates homerism.
