PPG fountains closed for repair

Post by penny lane »

The PPG fountains is my favorite downtown spot during the summer/spring. The good news is that
Mellon Park is open with their fountains on. Mellon park long ago, 2004 ? Scene of the early rally
for a new arena with revenues from gambling.
Repairs are not yet scheduled but should begin sometime in the next couple months, according to Andy Wisniewski, vice president of Highwoods Properties, Downtown, which runs and funds the fountain.

It’s unclear exactly what will need to be fixed, Mr. Wisniewski said. He added that workers will have to open up the fountain and look into its inner workings to see what’s wrong.

“We won’t quite know the scope until we get in there,” he said.
Fingers crossed it doesn't take the entire summer.
