Living in Colorado has me becoming an Avs fan, and I gotta say I'm stoked for this upcoming season. I didn't want to start a thread, but since you did....
Landeskog-Duchene-Parenteau
Tanguay-Statsny-O'Reilly
McGinn-MacKinnon-Downie
That's a sick top 9. Maybe even best in the league.
Their D blows wingnuts though. They're praying Statsny has a good year so they can trade him for a decent D-man. I'd really be checking in on Ron Hainsey at this point. They're solid in net though. I think they're a surprise force in the new Central division this year, with a season similar to the 07-8 Pens, but maybe winning a round.

Probably not.canaan wrote:Is hejduk definitely not coming back
Duchene is a cool guy, really loves the game, really good guy.
I've learned that there's somehow a guy on every team that just knows everyone else's equipment. I had a guy a couple years ago that didn't know all that much about hockey, but knew everyone's equipment somehow...I'll be talking to someone about Boston's defense and mention Dennis Seidenberg and he'll jump in, "is that the guy with the weird Graf skates?" "...uh yeah, I guess..." and then he'll tell me about them and the other two players in the league that have them, but knows nothing about Seidenberg or how he plays or anything...so weird to me.
Anyway, Matt Duchene is that guy (with probably more hockey knowledge), you ask Duchene anyone's gear in the league, and he probably knows it...it's uncanny...

I remember him saying during his post-draft day interview that he knew the blade pattern of every current Avs' player.mikey287 wrote:Probably not.canaan wrote:Is hejduk definitely not coming back

Seidenberg has those awful T-blades, and since this was a couple of years ago I'm going to guess the other two people were Marco Sturm and Jochen Hecht.

Seidenberg's skates have stood out for like 3-4 years now. I thought everyone knew them. I never noticed Sturm with them, but definitely Hecht. I presume they are German blades?

They are German. After some research, I found out Ehrhoff, Goc, and Hecht all wear them, and are all German.
