I was beginning to think this as well but then I realized that they play the Blue Jackets tonight. the Blue Jackets will catch them off guard and beat them tonight.

Any time Emery plays, the other team has a great shot to win...even the Jackets...

He's 7-0-0 this season. He seems, so far, to have his act together.

You like Tim Thomas though, don't you? Your argument is falling on deaf ears.

I thought it wasn't so much his act, but rather Emery has had major hip issues?

So, Emery is due to go against Obama?

Emery was never good though...pre or post-hip injury, he has no lateral movement, a lot of holes in his technique in and around his body...he goes down early and can't get out of it, he's just not very quick...really, just not very good...

Also, they're scoring 3.88 goals per game in his decisions, that gives you a lot of breathing room as a goalie...as Emery showed in the Phoenix game, he can keep any game close for the other team with some just head-scratching goals against...

I liked TT before he went all nut job. And I also think he couldn't play behind any other team BUT the Bruins.

If he ever does play in the NHL again he's be in for a rude awakening.

Act was a general term. Wasn't referring to his behavior as much as playing ability.

You're right, the hip is the issue.

I assume it is cup or failure at this point right? I mean failure more than a normal failure.

Is the rest of the west really that weak in comparison, or are the Blackhawks just that darn good?

Teams in the west aren't exactly gangbusters, if Chicago played in the Atlantic division no way would they be on this streak, but they are damn good. Every line and every pairing is solid

It's only 21 games. They'll get away from their game eventually.

Look like a team that peaked way, way too early. Definitely due for a rough patch. I think they make it to the second round though before they lose.

Or they're due to physically and/or mentally wear themselves out. That's possible, isn't it?

The team playing in front of Emery and his bionic hip (how long is the warranty on that thing, anyway?) is going to be playing with more and more pressure each passing game as the streak goes on. I also think that any holes or issues will be more easily glossed over or even unnoticed as the wins head into the 20s: What problems could a team that hasn't lost in regulation 20-some games possibly have, right?

You just knew that the longer yesterday's game with CBJ went, the less likely CBJ would win. The 3rd and 4th lines for CHI are something.

The Blackhawks are doing the Bruins a major favor. All the attention (and the difference in GP) lets the Bruins' impressive start fly under the radar. But IMO they are the team to beat this year. They play the way you need to play to win in the playoffs. If they add firepower to that defensive punch, I see them rolling through the post-season.

Hawks really underachieved last year and seem on a mission to reverse that in a major way. Their lineup is really deep with talent and all the right elements for success and they are hungry for it right now. Their D isn't the greatest in the NHL, especially the depth, and the goaltending isn't 100% either, but the overall talent from the forwards can mask some of those minor weaknesses because they keep the pressure on the opponent and off of themselves. Think Red Wings recently because they play a very similar game and know to exploit your weaknesses while minimizing their own.

As far as "peaking too soon," we'll see. They'll inevitably lose a game sometime and probably have a minor slump or two, but in a shortened season like this, it's hard to predict what they'll look like come the post-season or who may be injured or not. If I was a big Hawks' fan, I'd definitely be enjoying this streak and not hoping for losses so the team can later rebound and peak again. Forget that!
