Kind of feel bad for the Phoenix
They had just over 9K at the game last night. Feel bad for the team, brings back shades of the Pens of old.

From an co-worker who lives in the area, the arena is more than an hour away from all the major urban areas where everyone works and lives. He said it is out in the desert and he never goes because it would take him forever to get there and back (and he's originally from Montreal, so he likes hockey). Couple that with the INSANE ownership debacle and there's your story. I hate to say it, but just move the team already!

Yeah it's been like that for awhile. Only difference of course between our attendance and there's is they get bad attendance despite having a good team, but it's like what Pitts says and he's right. One of the main problems is the arena is hard to reach if you like somewhere like Phoenix and if i'm not mistaken is not served by a major interstate. They said if they would of built the arena in a more accessible suburb like Scottsdale they would be fine. That, coupled with the ownership fiasco and it's enough to drive any fan away from coming to see them.MarioLives wrote:They had just over 9K at the game last night. Feel sorry for their fans that have to go through this year after year with all the drama and no resolution yet again. You can bet those that were in attendance last night are as hardcore as the Pens' fans were when it looked like a couple of times the Penguins might be heading out of Pittsburgh.
I hope they can either find an ownership group with actual MONEY or just put those fans out of their misery and relocate the team. NHL and their ownership of franchises has a sorry history and they have been grasping at straws in the Phoenix situation. As much as I'd like to see the Coyotes stay there and build the market back up again, the city of Glendale has bent over backwards, the NHL is subsidizing the franchise big, possible owners have turned into crap......might be time to move on. It's a damn shame for those Phoenix fans as it's a good hockey team that would be even better if the ownership BS was resolved.

It's kind of like a person that's on life support that you know if the plug was pulled, everything would get better.
