Aesthetically, it's OK I guess. I mean, it portrays an aggressive look that's not too out of line with what the NHL is doing.
My issue with it is that the navigation is poorly done and the information is poorly presented on the home page. I think they could definitely refine their content strategy better. The access points are just not inviting at all. Overall usability really could use some work.
Also, some of the finer detail work could be cleaned up. Typography, white space, use of color, etc.
