He's gonna lose this. Acquring teams (that is, Anaheim from Edmonton) do not have to respect previous movement clauses. Which includes waivers, trades and offer sheets. Though, they may, if they so choose.

I wouldn't mind Visnovsky on the Pens.
Visnovsky - Orpik
Letang - Martin
Nisky - Despres/Engo/Strait/Bortuzzo

He filed the grievance in June, but NYI let it be known publicly yesterday.

Looked into this more, I don't think I'm right about this. Acquiring teams don't have to respect previous movement clauses if they were not in effect at the time of the acquisition...
Visnovsky might have something here after all...

Trade will be negated. Islanders will get back their 2013 second round pick back.

I would think that he'll give them a short "ok" list and will be traded again.

A small, older, puck mover? Is that really what we need?

We need to add a Dman before the playoffs if they are going to compete this year...
I would like a defensive guy... but at this point with this crappy crop of FAs, I'll take anyone who is competent at the position.
Visnovsky is clearly available, he isn't terrible defensively
Or, you can hope Smid or Streit is available at the Trade Deadline (Preferably Smid)

Streit is another offensive guy (converted forward in fact) and the Isles #1 d-man. Smid is not available.

Streit is a 2-way guy.
Smid is a upcoming UFA, he might want to stay in EDM idk, thats why I said "Hope he is available"

Lubomir Visnovsky has decided to stay in the KHL for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.
Visnovsky issued this statement, which Arthur Staple of New York Newsday posted on his Twitter account: "I have decided to stay and continue my career in the KHL for the remainder of the 2012-13 season. I am thankful to the #Isles for being so good to me. My decision not to play in the NHL is due to family and personal reasons. I have made no decisions on next season. My focus now is on Slovan Bratislava, and enjoying my family in my home country." Staple also posted that Visnovsky's agent, Neil Sheehy, said, "The situation would have been the same with any NHL team." It's possible that his situation may have changed because of the lockout, but it's hard to imagine that he ever wanted to play on Long Island. Visnovsky attempted to void his trade to the Islanders from Anaheim this past summer, but the deal was allowed to stand after it went through an arbitrator. This probably isn't the end of this issue though as the Islanders will surely have something to say.

Daly issued a statement this mornign saying something to the effect of "we are under the assumption that he is honoring his contract". This should get fun.

What can they do to stop him though? Other than try to go after bank accounts or something I don't see what they can do.

Can't they sue for breach of contract or something?
