Battle of Gettysburg **POST GAME THREAD**

Post by thehockeyguru »

The Roles

MWB- Gen. George Meade – As Union commander you come equipped with a Springfield single-shot rifled musket. You have the option of firing at a potential target starting on Night 1. If you choose not to fire on a particular evening you will be able to engage a confederate and kill them if you are ambushed. But remember since your rifle is a single shot you will not be able to accumulate bullets and it takes longer to reload so you will only be able to fire every other evening. Also, a perk of being the General is that if you are investigated you will come back as a regular villager.

Mac5155 - Maj. Gen. John Buford – As head of the Union Cavalry you are the eyes and the ears for the infantry. You are permitted to investigate one person each Night beginning on Night 1.

Slappy - Maj. Gen. Winfield S. Hancock – You are responsible for the defense of Cemetery Hill. Your job is to defend the high ground as the Confederates charge through the city. You have the ability to protect one person on each night, beginning Night 1.

Zaro - Gen. Robert E Lee – Fighting an offensive war is always the hardest so as Confederate General you have the unique ability of choosing to kill or recruit each evening beginning on Night 1. If you choose to recruit an RP the kill will comeback as unsuccessful. Another perk of being the general is if you are investigated you will come back as a regular villager. You may now communicate with your officers who are: Rylan and ExPatriatePen

Rylan - Lt. Gen. James Longstreet – You are Robert E Lee’s most trusted General. You are to look out for his health and well being at all times and have the ability to protect him or any other member of the Confederacy including yourself on any given night. You will receive an email from Robert E Lee shortly.

EPP - Maj. Gen. J.E.B. Stuart - As head of the Confederate Cavalry you are the eyes and the ears for the infantry. You are permitted to investigate one person each Night beginning on Night 1. You will receive an email from Robert E Lee shortly

Columbia / LITT -
Gettysburg Town Masons - You have both been selected to be Mason’s of the town of Gettysburg. You have both lived in Gettysburg your whole life and simply want the fighting to come to an end. You have no loyalty to the Confederacy or the Union, your only wish is to make it through the battle alive together.

As Mason’s you win if you are able to kill the (6) commanding officers. If one of you is killed in battle the other will have no choice but to avenge their death. (So if you are killed by the Union you will be an officer of the Confederacy. If you are killed by the Confederacy you will become a Union Officer). The two of you are equipped with (1) Springfield single-shot rifled musket. You have the option of firing at a potential target each evening starting on Night 2. But remember since your rifle is a single shot you will not be able to accumulate bullets and it takes longer to reload so you will only be able to fire every other evening. You can communicate with one another via Private Message.

He appeared to be fully AWOL.

I wasn't really a red - though I got yinz to kill me and flip LITT to the JOAT role - but that didn't help us.
Then again, there were multiple blues who were missing.

Mixed Bag. During the beginning of the game he was sending them in, but I believe the last 3-4 nights zaro was making the call.

If rylan wasn't around then they shouldn't have gotten his protects IMO.

Yeah with Rylan not participating, when Zaro was killed the game ended.

It would have been tough for me to Mod-kill an RP. I wanted to keep the game competitive.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with one of the other reds sending in all of the night action.

No problem. Didn't quite go as I planned with the lack of participation but as other mods know that's out of my hands.

I had a blast at the end. This was only my second game, and this time around I see why you all play these games.

I hope I can play in the future, but usually I'm too busy to be active enough to participate. I had some down time at work so I was able to play the last couple weeks, but that will end on Tuesday.

I thought bhaw was going to have an aneurysm, after he requested to be killed and MWB wouldn't do it.

I thought you played a very good game SDD. I wasn't sure if this was your first, but I definitely made a note to comment at the end because it was one of the best newcomer games I've seen in a long time -- was hoping you'd be able to be a regular.

Thanks Kraft. I think the fact that mac seered me the first night and announced I was blue helped keep me around longer.

I don't remember ever playing with you. I didn't know how you usually play. So I checked you out

I don't have a problem with that aspect, but the fact that he wasn't even participating in the game itself in unacceptable IMO.

I don't either. Unlike the greens, they consult each other anyway and plan it out what to do.

I was just wondering.

It was frustrating... MWB was confident I was bad. So I just say "fine kill me!" and he starts arguing for reasons not to. :scared:

I really thought you were bad, but not 100%. that's why I didn't shoot you. Things just weren't adding up and I thought rylan couldnt really be an rp based on his absence, so you were the only one I could point to logically. I figured you were red and knew if i was killed it would take out a red, and thought your questions about not shooting and having multiple shots were meant to get that info from me to help the reds. Your switch made the difference though.

I have to give Zaro props as I basically committed suicide on night 1 and Rylan disappeared.

Given those obstacles. he and krafster made a decent showing for the reds.

THG, you ran a great game and down at the end it was everything I could do to keep my mouth shut. Good play everyone.

thanks for the game, thg. missed the post-game thread when it was more active.

It was a fun game to read. I.e. Early death isn't always a bad thing.
