Devils re-sign Zajac to multi-year deal

On HF boards, it's mentioned he's getting four years, $5.5 million per year. No confirmation yet on those numbers.

Sounds like it's a 4 year deal. Haven't heard the $$ yet though...Should be Staal type of contract I assume...

Travis Zajac and the New Jersey Devils avoided salary arbitration on Wednesday, agreeing on a four-year contract extension, worth $15.55 million.

Great job there by all involved...Zajac went from "uh oh, he's not gonna bust is he?" to "wow, we really need to consider him for the Selke" Good for Trav, good job by the Devils there...

Zajac has 8 points in 28 games played and is a minus 2. $5.5 million per year....yeah looks like a great deal. The guy is Jan Hrdina.

Honza never made half that money and put up more points.

He's more like Roman Simicek.

Zajac: 8 pts in 28 games (.28 ppg)

Simicek: 9 pts in 29 games (w/Penguins, 2000-01)
Simicek: 6 pts in 28 games (w/Wild, 2000-01)
2000-01 average: 15 pts in 57 games (.26 ppg)

Simicek: 2 pts in 6 games (w/ Wild, 2001-02)

Yes it's the wrong thread. I apologize. If you'd like I can pull of the thread from January with all the other off season signings. It doesn't change the fact that the guy signed a contract for way more than he's worth. And the fact that his extension hasn't started yet makes the contract even worse. The guy is Jan Hrdina.
