he dies. maybe.
Spoiler:
there is no way he is really dead. its just a flesh wound. he'll get better. :scared:
I say Ghost comes thru to save him in time for either Coldhands or Uncle Benjen (or are they the same!?!) to take him on some epic beyond the wall adventure in book 6 :scared:
Spoiler:
Melisandre will burn the wounds shut, bring him back to life and now he will be Jon Stark, Lord of Winterfell. He will then go down south, meet Stannis and Mance at Winterfell, see that it was all a ploy to get him free from his vows and then carry on to Dorne where he meets up with his aunt and half-brother and their dragons and then conquer/save all of Westeros.
]

Spoiler:
Great point on the Melisandre connection and her potential healing powers. She predicted he would face this fate with "daggers in the dark" and I also can't get over the passage in ADWD where she was trying to conjur up a vision in her fires of Stannis as Azor Ahai and she couldn't get past images of Jon and Snow that kept coming to her.

Not on SNL, but saw a link via FB and watched it. He was great, but I regretted watching the rest of it... nothing like the Weekend Update I remember.

Just downloaded an ibook app with the intention of getting the books. Trying to decide between just getting a game of thrones and getting a four book bundle.

I haven't been prepared to read yet, so I haven't decided. Once I go to the bathroom today, will probably get the bundle.

Storm of Swords spoiler
Spoiler:
It looks like the red wedding will be sooner than I thought. Perhaps mid season. Jamie is going to lose his hand very soon. Joffery will die before seasons end. I can't remember from the book but is Joffrey's new crossbow the same on Tyrion uses to kill Tywin....which leads to the best quote from the books: "In the end, Tywin did not, in fact, **** gold."
Speculation based on the episode titles...
Spoiler:
Being that the title of Episode 9 is The Rains of Castemere, I am expecting that to contain Joffrey's wedding. And Now His Watch is Ended has to be the debacle at Craster's. Kissed By Fire is most likely when Jon is going to hook up with Yggrite.

I see that Martin wrote episode 7... I wonder if that will contain the Red Wedding or perhaps the previous episode which was written by Benioff & Weiss since that was really the scene they were looking forward to doing all along.
Further speculation
Spoiler:
Walk Of Punishment - not sure... possibly more torture for Theon or Jaime giving a hand
And Now His Watch Is Ended - Goodbye Jeor
Kissed By Fire - Jon gets some
The Climb - Tormund vs the Wall
The Bear and the Maiden Fair - Red Wedding? Or Brienne vs. the Bear? Umber sings this at the RW iirc so it's possible...
Second Sons - Yunkai action
The Rains of Castamere - if the RW does not happen earlier, it is definitely in this episode. If it does happen earlier, this is Joffrey's wedding.
Mhysa - Daenerys

I'm not sure if they'll want to have both weddings the same season, but we'll see what happens... things seem to be progressing that way so far, but they can certainly slow things down if they want to.

Omg, reading Westeros message board posts makes me want to sign up just so I can troll people.

Someone called the 2nd episode "awful" yet this is what he writes...
That was just awful. The Bran, Arya and Jaime scenes were good, and the Sansa/Olenna/Margaery scene was amazing. But that's it. The rest was really boring. The Catelyn/Talisa scene was absolutely horrible. It felt like badly written fanfiction.

The best bit about the episode was the preview at the end because of that short glimpse of Daenerys. The episode really suffered without her IMO.
Ok, so after you say the show was awful, you immediately name more good/great scenes the bad ones. Not only that, but the scenes you praised consisted of 80% of the episode.

I really had to vent somewhere.

Yeah, don't know why she looks so much worse as a blonde. Way better when she's not on this show.

Hmm. Was that "Walk of Punishment" stuff in the book? Don't recall. Plays into Daenerys's overall distaste for slavery well... just curious if this was an add-on or I'm forgetting about it... I liked it.

Love this show. Lots of little details I had forgotten about like Jaime saving Brienne from getting raped. I don't recall Hot Pie getting left behind in the book, but not a huge loss, really. I assume that Beric has to show up pretty soon... maybe next week.

And lastly, gotta hand it to Jaime.
Spoiler:
I'll be here all week, thank you.

I have to say the credit song was really out of place... wasn't expecting a rock version of the Bear and the Maiden Fair at all.

I enjoyed this episode...not much happened but had a lot of "smirking points". Edmure/Blackfish archery, the chair game at the meeting of the hand, podrick's prowess, clegane not remembering the inn, the understated respect/admiration of brienne by Jamie started to blossom.
