Not on SNL, but saw a link via FB and watched it. He was great, but I regretted watching the rest of it... nothing like the Weekend Update I remember.blackjack68 wrote:Anyone catch Peter Drunklage on SNL last weekend?

Just downloaded an ibook app with the intention of getting the books. Trying to decide between just getting a game of thrones and getting a four book bundle.

I haven't been prepared to read yet, so I haven't decided. Once I go to the bathroom today, will probably get the bundle.

Omg, reading Westeros message board posts makes me want to sign up just so I can troll people.
Someone called the 2nd episode "awful" yet this is what he writes...
I really had to vent somewhere.

Ok, so after you say the show was awful, you immediately name more good/great scenes the bad ones. Not only that, but the scenes you praised consisted of 80% of the episode. That was just awful. The Bran, Arya and Jaime scenes were good, and the Sansa/Olenna/Margaery scene was amazing. But that's it. The rest was really boring. The Catelyn/Talisa scene was absolutely horrible. It felt like badly written fanfiction.
The best bit about the episode was the preview at the end because of that short glimpse of Daenerys. The episode really suffered without her IMO.

Yeah, don't know why she looks so much worse as a blonde. Way better when she's not on this show.Gaucho wrote:YepIdoit40fans wrote:Eh...not really as cersei. In general and as a brunette, definitely.

Re: George R.R. Martin
Hmm. Was that "Walk of Punishment" stuff in the book? Don't recall. Plays into Daenerys's overall distaste for slavery well... just curious if this was an add-on or I'm forgetting about it... I liked it.
Love this show. Lots of little details I had forgotten about like Jaime saving Brienne from getting raped. I don't recall Hot Pie getting left behind in the book, but not a huge loss, really. I assume that Beric has to show up pretty soon... maybe next week.
And lastly, gotta hand it to Jaime.

I have to say the credit song was really out of place... wasn't expecting a rock version of the Bear and the Maiden Fair at all.

Re: George R.R. Martin
I enjoyed this episode...not much happened but had a lot of "smirking points". Edmure/Blackfish archery, the chair game at the meeting of the hand, podrick's prowess, clegane not remembering the inn, the understated respect/admiration of brienne by Jamie started to blossom.
