First episode of Foo Fighters 'Sonic Highways' on HBO was really good.

Black Flag guitarist Greg Ginn is not to be trusted with his 2 daughters ... which his ex-wife says is obvious to anyone who watches this video of him perving out with a young chick on stage.

Ginn performed with Black Flag in July at a Butte, MT music festival. A young woman jumped on stage and gotta say ... what he does with her is pretty shocking.

The guy who shot the video says it was so creepy ... he contacted Ginn's ex-wife because he feared for the safety of the couple's daughters, ages 10 and 7.
Hardly shocking. I was more surprised with how weak Black Flag sounded.

If you don't like the band, you don't have to call them names. Know it wasn't intentional, but what a typo. ;)

But yes, to say that they sounded terrible would be an understatement.

Would this sound be considered post-rock?

I'm not sure exactly where that falls in, has some shoegaze in there maybe.

I feel like post rock is a little bit spacier and less consistent. I don't know the technicality, but Slint comes to mind when I think Post Rock.

:) Completely unintentional, loved Black Flag's early stuff and understand the appeal of the later stuff. Sometimes I have to strike twice on this crappy toshiba keyboard.

I bet they didn't play this in Butte:

Speaking of Bonzo.....

Led Zeppelin Loses First Round in 'Stairway to Heaven' Lawsuit
Led Zeppelin is stuck in Pennsylvania at the moment, forced to confront claims the band stole its biggest hit "Stairway to Heaven" from Randy Craig Wolfe, founding member of the band Spirit.

Wolfe's heirs sued Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and their music companies in June, asserting that the story Page has told over the years about holing himself up in a remote cottage in Wales in 1970 and creating the iconic song is false. The plaintiff alleges that the music really came from Spirit, which once toured with Led Zeppelin in the late 1960s.
Hearing 'Stairway' back to back with 'Taurus' - and knowing that not only did Spirit tour with Zep, but Zep actually covered a Spirit song in their own set - it seems difficult to argue that the earlier song wasn't front of mind when Page sequestered himself away to woodshed and write what became 'Stairway'. That doesn't necessarily mean it rises to the level of infringement, but the connection is clear.

I've listened to those comparisons and it's obviously a total ripoff.
No shame, apparently.

And it's not like this is the only song they are accused of cribbing.

The Zeppelin worship sincerely makes me sick given ALL of these claims and the fact they were a greatest hits band. You want to find the best material by Zeppelin? Download a greatest compilation and that's all you need. When I was a young pirating music lad and wanted to find out about the big deal about Zeppelin, I downloaded all of their albums. I listened to every single one in length and each one had maybe 2-3 (if lucky) great songs on it. The rest I considered boring filler.

Granted I'm a bit biased as a Sabbath fan who's greatest hits album in my mind couldn't fit on a 3 disc set, but if you're supposedly one of the greatest rock bands ever, you better damn well have some gems hidden throughout your catalog that simply never made it big. I don't see/hear this with Zeppelin in the slightest.

Totally disagree, the whole of Zeppelin's catalog is essential. I guess getting and hearing it all at once vs hearing and digesting the individual records over a period of years probably accounts for some of your differing opinion.

Sabbath, on the other hand, was all down hill after the first three lps.

I could not disagree more.

I used to sneak into my brother's room and listen to his music. He got a CD player before me and I would sneak in when he wasn't at home and listen to CDs. He had a Zeppelin box set with a crop circle on the cover. Inside were 4 CDs labeled I, II, III, and IV. I would listen to all 4 CDs whenever I could. I assumed these were Zeppelin's Greatest Hits because every single song was amazing. Obviously they were not Greatest Hits albums...

I love their new album in general, but The Motherload is definitely the standout song.

I heard their next new song - Feast or Famine - on Grohl's HBO show. Good as well.
