Bah, you could replace records with any other material possession and that guy with any other person that takes pride in ownership of that material product.columbia wrote:The guy from two posts above you wants to know if you're getting vinyl.
But yeah, I'm not going to get hardcore into record buying, we just cherry picked each out parent's collections for a bunch of good ones to have, and i've been picking up records at shows that I go to. I went to jerry's once and wasn't into rummaging around there through mounds of obscure 70's and 80's stuff that is assuradly unlistenable.
This was just a great chance to buy up some records i consider essential on the cheap. Picked up:
Weezer - Blue Album
Modest Mouse - Moon and Antartica
Belle and Sebastian - If your feeling sinister
Ramones - Ramones
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasure
Billy Bragg - Life's a riot
Then some modern favorites:
Japandroids - Celebration Rock
Wavves - King of the Beach
Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires

I don't know anything about the Italian goth scene (though there was a time in my life where I probably would have), but here's a collection of bands covering Joy Division:

Re: Let's talk about music
Some of these bands appear to be from Southern Tyrol. Or maybe they just think German and Gothic go well together.

Anyone ever catch a show at the Carnegie Lecture Hall or attend anything else at the lecture hall? I was going to skip Brandi Carlile this time, but she is doing all acoustic show at the lecture hall, so I will probably not be able to skip that after all.

Anyone familiar with Moon Duo? Seem to have a Liars (recent Liars anyway) sound.

A spin off of the very psychedelic Wooden Shjips. I like both bands.

Gah, that makes it even harder to stomach missing The Kills' show in Philly in October (Moon Duo is opening). That's inside of 3 weeks from Baby Kraftster 2.0 anticipated arrival date, though.

These tickets went on sale at 10:00, and I nearly blew it by trying to look for different tickets one time. I think its sold out now. $60. Judging by this photo of the Mr. Roboto Project as a concert venue, it may be time for me to debut my earplugs tonight.

Re: Let's talk about music
i've been there once, it's moved to friendship/garfield. I think it's changed a bit since what it was when you would have been in pittsburgh.
