i think it's their most consistent album since Danse Macabre. The last 2 albums have been kind of hit or miss. I actually didn't care much for Fasciination aside from Mirror Error and The Geeks Were Right.

as far as Doom Abuse...

Salt My Doom, Dress Code, Your Stranger, & Unseen Hand are probably the strongest tracks on the album.

My only criticism is that maybe the album is a bit too one note. But I don't think there's really a weak song on the album. it's a very aggressive sounding album, and i enjoy that type of stuff from them.

The new season Mad Men is pretty uninteresting, but maybe it will get more people to listen to this album:

^ Bill Ward, killer drumming. Cool syncopated drumming during "Black Sabbath" not heard on the album version.

Billy Joel/Howard Stern interview on SXM now. Pretty good stuff.

Surely will be repeated ad nauseam if you're interested and miss it.

Blank Wave Arcade was my favorite album that they put out. As far as this one, after another listen, I think Damage Control is my favorite track on the album.

30 Seconds to Mars seems more talented than the prettyboy frontman/emo/13 yr old girls think they are the best band ever labels that probably get attached to them.

First ever DefJam record (Rick Reuben's Hose):

My roommate at the time had it. Should have swiped it from him as he left with my favorite shirt when he moved out.

The new Old 97's record - Most Messed Up - is their best record in years. I would love to put a video up of one of their new songs, but most have f-bombs and other non-board friendly language on it. (Which has never happened with this band before, I guess they are getting ornery after 20 years).

Definitely worth checking out...

I'm really digging Mastodon's new song. YouTube comments seem to be filled with the typical idiots claiming sellouts and it doesn't sound like their old stuff. Thoughts?

I listened to it and like it a lot. Tommy Stinson from The Replacements played on a few songs.

Haven't checked this out yet, but I just saw that Rhett's been cowriting some songs with Richard Edwards of Margot and the Nuclear So & So's for some secret project... Should be interesting.
