A cup of chili is a common appetizer at restaurants that serve that kind of stuff.

I'm in the Progressive/Chunky soup area (Campbell's as a child, sure...haven't bought it in a long time)...honest question, what should I do? Where should I be looking for soup? I'm open to ideas...slappybrown wrote:You need to up your soup game beyond Campbell's is my take home here.mikey287 wrote:Yes, I do. But I still don't rely on soup. Occasional bowl here and there because, like I said, some soup is good. But I really just don't lean on it. I can go months without eating it and not think twice. A lot of people that I talk to make soup like kind of a big deal. Like it's more than just a routine, optional side dish.meow wrote:doesn't mikey have a bum heating system in his apartment? dude should be eating nothing but soup to keep warm.

Ok, there's no chance of that happening...I'm not the most handy person in the kitchen...I can survive, but I'm not in the position to be making my own soup...

If I had to choose between starving to death or eating campbell's soup, it would take me a minute to decide.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
Technically just boiling a chicken makes chicken soup. It just wont be that good.
I said before that we only by whole birds and stock/broth is one of the reasons why. We spatchcock the bird, cook it, eat what we are going to eat, remove the meat that wasn't eaten and store, and save the bones. 2-3 birds later we boil the bones and innards to make stock which we use for a number of different applications.

I have to be in the mood for soup and when I do I like a heartier, thicker, less broth soup. I will get cravings for Chicken Noodle or Wedding Soup though.
