Oh, give me a break. The majority of those wins were when there were not a large number of schools with teams. That's like Maple Leafs fans using Stanley Cups to show their greatness.

23/65 * 100 = 35% of NCAA titles have gone to teams currently in the B1G... statistically irrelevant.columbia wrote:Oh, give me a break. The majority of those wins were when there were not a large number of schools with teams. That's like Maple Leafs fans using Stanley Cups to show their greatness.
0/1 * 100 = 0% of NCAA titles won since the B1G hockey conference formed... statistically relevant.
compare that to the 97 years the NHL has been around and the 13 cups Toronto has won... 13/97 * 100 = 13.4% hmmm, not even close.
Additionally, Maine was the last team to join the NCAA and win a championship. They joined in 1977. Since then, current B1G:
12/38*100 = 31.5% of NCAA titles since then.
It's completely okay with me if you dislike the idea of B1G hockey due to the fact that it broke up some pretty awesome conferences in college hockey. I get that, it's fine. But to try to say things like:
please....Letang Is The Truth wrote:the b1g hockey conference is a joke

I think you are arguing about the Big Ten as a conference and most everybody else is arguing about the Big Ten as individual schools.

It's 9:16 AM and Michigan still sucks. Winning the B1G opener is huge for PSU. They are already 1 game away from matching their win total from last year and they still have 25 games left to play. Definitely an exciting time for PSU hockey.

Every PSU sports team that was in action last night won, including PSU wrestling over Pitt.

Re: NCAA Hockey Thread 2014-2015
I watched the win over Michigan. It looked like Michigan really had the upper hand all game long, just couldn't score, and PSU capitalized on chances. The second game (which I didn't watch) must have been similar, but Mich finally started putting the puck in the net.

Re: NCAA Hockey Thread 2014-2015
I certainly made this thread to discuss all college hockey. If you wanna talk about RMU, then talk about RMU.
btw, PSU now has more wins in 15 games this season than they had all year (36 games) last year.

Man this is an irrational peeve of mine. Oh this thread doesn't talk about what I want to talk about. Not that I am going to say anything about it, I'm just going to complain that nobody is talking about it.

#16 in Pairwise.... which assuming conference champions are all ahead of them puts them in if the tournament started today.
I know it doesn't but
Next up is RMU in the 3RC, want to go so bad but ironically I will be at my parents' house near State College.

I don't know what Pairwise is, but it puts PSU ahead of RMU, so I'm sure it doesn't matter. Wisconsin has the worst record in the country. Maybe I don't follow college hockey close enough, but that really surprises me.PghSkins wrote:Sweep at Wisconsin? Holy freakin' freak.Sam's Drunk Dog wrote:Another big win for the Lions.

Robert Morris moved up to 17th in the national rankings. Their 10-1-3 record gives them the 3rd highest winning percentage in the country. Cody Wydo is tied for third in scoring with 21 points in 14 games, putting him second in points/game behind Jack Eichel.

Re: NCAA Hockey Thread 2014-2015
Pairwise is a ranking system in which the computers use common opponents to determine rankings. In short, if PSU and RMU each play Providence twice, PSU winning both by a combined score of 8-4 and RMU wins both by a combined score of 7-5, PSU will be ranked higher than RMU in Pairwise.
