canaan - I'd love to dip the wheels black. I've never done it before though and am worried I'd screw something up. It just peels off though, right? I'll have to watch some youtube vids on it.

mac - I still preferred the orange, probably since it's my favorite color but I'm loving the black. Sure doesn't stay clean long though! ;)

start with the trail rated badge on the driver's side. mask it off, spray a dust coat and come back 15 minutes later and spray it again....do it like 3 or 4 times...dont worry about the roughness/blotchy look...itlll flatten itself out. its simple. i youtubed a couple different vids and tried it out on a random peice of junk steel we had in the shop...its foolproof.

if you get any on the tires, itll rub off. the more you put on, the easier it will be to take off where you dont want it to go. i masked a square off around the jeep logo and just whipped it with plastidip. i used a toothpick around the emblem to break the bond and it just peeled off like the sticky glue thats on the back of gift cards and what not.

theres a guy who either lives near me or (more likely) owns the guardian storage across from Whole Foods who drives an Audi R8. What a cool looking car.

I rented a Chevy Spark over the weekend and I really really liked it. The back seat and trunk aren't really any smaller than my car is now. I'm seriously thinking of selling my Pontiac and buying a new Spark.

And since the president said he is going to start ordering new emissions standards without my flat earth society meeting on the issue I suppose I'd already be on board with that.

love the color of that lambo

There's something that popped up on Living Social that involved doing a test drive of a lambo (yes, I'm intentionally shortening the spelling since I can never spell it right), Ferrari, Porsche Turbo, or an R8. I think the other part of the deal lets you take your car on the track for a few laps.

If I didn't need to buy new tires on my car, I'd test drive that R8 in a second. I'd say it's probably #2 on my list of cars that I'd buy if I had the chance.

So apparently one of my wheels was out of round and the dealer said they can't fix it.

Is it more than just replacing the wheel?

Not a Lambo guy at all, but the Aventador is fer realz. It's the frickin' Batmobile.

It depends on how the wheel got 'out of round', but most likely it's just a matter of getting a replacement wheel. I'm assuming you have steel wheels?

Yeah, alloys. They're just replacing it. The way they worded it sounded like there was nothing they could do and they wouldn't be able to replace it.

Needed new tires on the Buick. I decided to get wheels and tires, and just use my OEM wheels (which are getting a little rough) for my studded snows. I was tempted to go with some 20's, but settled for going up one size to 18's. Great service from TireRack - ordered them Monday am and they were delivered Weds am mounted and ready to put on.

TIL Willie Kool is a senior citizen.

:slug:

As an aside, how many miles do you guys normally get on your road tires (since the majority of you have Jeeps)? Just got mine changed for the 1st time at 27,000 miles. Curious to see how that compares.

Son, there may come a day when you too will learn to appreciate a few comforts.

Besides, I'll outrun that box on wheels you have anytime you would like to meet me on 79. :P

This morning it was actually One of These Days - on terrestrial radio. And no one nearby had to listen too closely.

Found this '63 Vette eBay in my extended area:

2600 HP and street legal and can be yours for $375,000.00.

:face: although it's a better investment that those Civic Arena letters at that price.
