I need some expert help (so I am cross-posting on this and the other forum, because I want to reach the "experts"):

I just went for my regular BMW maintenance visit (328 Xdrive, about 5.5 years, 45K miles). The dealer service replaced both front and rear brakes (and claimed that thanks to my extended maintenance warranty I saved about $1,700, and a total of $2,300 for the whole visit ?? :scared: ). The only instruction I got was "it will take 150 miles for the brakes to start working properly." Naturally, the Internet is full of super-important instructions for proper break-in of brakes (such as http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ). So my question is: am I supposed to follow any "protocol"? And if yes, what really works for you? Thanks!

I doubt you need to do that.....you're not tracking a 328 or anything.
