Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
NJ puts Damien Brunner on waivers. ARI puts Kyle Chipchura on waivers.
Given the current forward situation, both could be useful to the Pens. But that would put them at the contract limit...

Brunner is super soft. Chipchura is an Adams clone only not as smart. But...

Yeah. I mean they're not great players. If they were, they wouldn't on waivers. But they are NHLers and, at the absolute least, would be upgrades over Sill & Adams.meow wrote:Brunner is super soft. Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
Are they, though? Chipchura, despite being in the league as long as he has, has never really found his niche. Brunner is good for one great offensive play and game, then 18 minutes of "wow, how is this dude on the 2nd line?" I hate claiming players, though, so what do I know?tfrizz wrote:Yeah. Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
For free? I'd take a shot. If they don't pan out, drop them back on the waiver wire. Someone will claim Brunner before the Pens, though. Chipchura will probably clear.meow wrote:Are they, though? Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
I guess that's the question. Is it worth the disruption to give these two a shot to provide a stop-gap and not a long term solution? I'm not a big fan of Brunner. His game has not translated to NA well at all.tfrizz wrote:For free? I'd take a shot. If they don't pan out, drop them back on the waiver wire. Someone will claim Brunner before the Pens, though. Damien Brunner (NJ) did not report to Albany (AHL), he is on unconditional waivers today for purposes of a mutual termination. He maybe headed back to Switzerland.

The CBJ Artillery twitter was making fun of Crosby and then the Hartnell injury came out. I laughed inside a little bit. Karma.MRandall25 wrote:Hartnell out at least 2 weeks with a broken finger.

Re: 2014-15 Non-Pens Transactions
does that money include bonuses?
edit: read the article, JS. Prorated money, so it's not as much as it seems.
